Trump’s coup continues. It will soon enter its fourth phase

Which brings us to what is likely to be phase four of his attempted coup – his campaign for re-election.

Trump’s attempted coup continues. Since before the 2020 election, he has been engaged in a concerted attempt to undermine the institutions of the US government.

Everyone who cares about American democracy should be prepared for phase four.

You show the Trump hate and Democrats witchhunt is still going

Easy enough to prove me wrong then, why don't you provide me with some of these threats

They have been provided. You just say then 'that is not a threat', so what is the point.

As i said, a person can say 'I will kill you' and another can say 'they meant the way it is said in sports and not real death'.

If that is the game the person is playing to just deny any real threat, such as showing yourself with a baseball bat aimed at someone's head, especially when Trump knows he has nutbars in his cult who will try to act on it, then what is the point of trying to 'prove' anything to them?

Trump said nothing on the level of I will kill you.

You guys are nitpicking because of your fetish to get Trump on something.

In general in most jurisdictions, a threat to do physical, emotional, or legal harm to another is considered assault if the victim perceives it as such -- and if the speaker has the means to make good on his/her threat. In this case, Trump, being #IMPOTUSx2, had the means to use the power of the federal government to go after Raffensperger. He perceived Trump's words rightfully as a threat.

Now if I were to tell Comrade Stinkerbelle that I'm coming to throw a brick through his window and let the bats out, 99% of us would think that a bogus and unlikely-to-happen event, and not a threat.

So in your world, only a threat to kill someone is actually a legal threat? See Post #66. :rofl2:

Not at all but there must be a clear threat of violence directed towards something specific. Trump saying, "if you come after me I'll come after you" would be classified as self-defense.

Such as if you break into my house you will regret it.

That is not a threat.

What Trump said is equivalent to issuing a warning.

We have had countless people commit serious attacks and assaults and say it was because they were responding to Trump's words.

He knows that a few percent in his group will do that, and he weaponizes them deliberately.

When the insurrection at the Capital started, Pence went from not being a target to being target #1 because Trump deliberately ranted in public that Pence had 'betrayed them', and the direct result was a mob looking for Pence to hang him.

Whether you believe they would have went thru with it, had they caught Pence and separated him from his security is irrelevant. The mob, in the fervor Trump whipped up was directed to hunt for and get and 'hang Mike Pence.'

that is a massive threat, regardless of eventual outcome.

It's not Trumps fault how people react to Trumps words, they are adults.

If I go out and create violence and claim you made me do it with your words would that make you guilty?

And he never said to hang Pence.

God you guys lie so much.

It was a political rally and the point of a rally is to get people riled up, it doesn't mean they have to get violent, that is all on them.

Remember that Trump specifically told them to be peaceful. He never once told them to be violent.

There is absolutely no case here.

There being no 'case here' is not the same thing as saying Trump is not 'threatening people'.

Things in life do happen that cannot be substantiated in a court of law 'beyond a reasonable doubt', because the latter involves asking jurors to know the persons mind beyond any doubt. So you need to stop conflating the two standards.

Pence's own Secret Service recognized what Trump said and did on Jan 6th put Pence's life at risk. They recognized the words that Trump said and tweeted on Jan6th (words he did not have to say) were what directed the mobs anger and blood lust at Pence, when he was not a target a prior.

Simply because those words by Trump may not be prosecutable does not mean they were not a legit to Pence, his security, his life.

Trump knew the power of the words he said that day and weaponized them and yet that can be true, while at the same time the other adults are also responsible for their own actions.

Trump was aggressively calling Bragg all sorts of names like 'psychopath' etc, and then posts a picture of himself holding a baseball as if teeing up Alvin Bragg's head. That is a threat.
.

perhaps, unlike BP, you can provide a link.....

Clear headed, plainly stated take down. Trouble is no one who needs to be persuaded will read it. Even then it wouldn't help much. There's a poll out that shows about three quarters of Trump supporters think whatever he says should be believed since no one is more credible than he is. It's like a terminal virus.
