You are so lost. AI is a new tool that can ferret out the connections. The 1600 targeted owe 250,000 plus each. Collectively, it will be hundreds of millions of dollars. AI can sniff out shell companies and reveal how they function. It can find offshore accounts where the wealthy are stashing money.
Of course, another thing you missed is that once they are caught, they will not be able to do it anymore. That means more revenue every single year. Well, until the Republicans get back in and the IRS is gutted again.
You are wearing out Trump brand kneepads by the case sucking up to the wealthy. The AI that the IRS has is a tool to gather the revenue. from cheaters.

But the government is up to the challenge. They have caught and forced a far larger percent of rich tax cheats in the past, and it has a knock on effect as then less rich people are willing to cheat as no one wants to go to jail or pay punitive fines. the current situation, which you seem to support, that 'it is too hard to catch the rich so let them cheat and focus instead on the working poor' is just garbage.

Ywah, you have it. The IRS has AI and is aimed at the wealthy tax evaders. They will get many million back immediately and have more taxes flow into the country afterward. But if they knew the IRS came after your 2 grand so hard, the bill would never have passed. Your 2 K situation is so informative about the subject.

HIstory has proven that with more resources the IRS DOES target and get far more money from the rich. Thus why the GOP is so focused on defunding it. They want to ensure they can ONLY go after working poor taxpayers with basic tax returns.

Lots of things were fixed. Biden is working on this. Do you require instant gratification? Do you know they have to fight a bloc called the Republican//Plutocrat party? A few Dems getting bought out can delay or kill bills. It is terrific that with a split House and Senate, Biden got so much done. Biden fixed it. the Repubs will quickly slash the IRS like they did in the past. That was the first step Biden had to get through.
