Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulls fire alarm ahead of vote to pass short-term funding bill

If he did it to disrupt the vote should he be charged with disrupting an official procedure.

True, if that's what the evidence points to and the investigation concludes.

If he is found guilty what do you think his punishment should be.

Whatever is commensurate with the level of the offense.

If you want me to say he should get the same sentence as the most serious J6 offenders got, I'm not going to.

Many, if not most of the J6'ers got off with probation and no jail time. I would imagine something like that would be appropriate for him. Maybe a censure in the House. Loss of committee assignments, etc.

investigated...its on security video

That's not an investigation.

That's evidence FOR an investigation.

Someone should get his phone and subpoena phone records, who told him to do this? Did they signal a time to pull the alarm?

This idea that he "thought it would open the door" is absurd, nobody believes him, it has to be a reasonable doubt to convince a jury this excuse is not reasonable.

These folks even know it is against the law to interrupt the proceedings. There is no excuse for this.

It hasn't gone unnoticed that they seem afraid to show the video. Likely because his excuse really drops a heavy and odorous load into the collective pants of the Democrats.

Bowman regularly brags about his years as a teacher and principal. He's from a state that requires 12 fire drills per school year.

The POS liar knows exactly how fire alarms work.

12 fire drills you say? During an 8-9 month school year? You are such a good researcher!

I saw the video on the news yesterday.

Maybe you need to find a better news source.

We are talking about the crime of interrupting an official proceeding and nothing else. (Pulling the alam is a ticket thing.)They should subpoena his phone records to find out if this was coordinated with someone else. He was trying to force a shutdown of our country. It is every bit as serious as J6 rioters trying to interrupt official proceedings. He knew it was illegal to do what he did. He absolutely should get a similar sentence. They need to make an example out of him. He should not get off just because he is a Democrat. Remember no one is above the law. .

It wasn't even in the Capitol building.

Let's face it kids, It was a signal to start an INSURRECTION!

Sieze all phone records, cell phone photos, check for unexploded ordinance, social media posts from ten years back, hide your wives, hide your children, lock and load, where the hell is RAY EPPS?

Now they're calling it an insurrection. :rofl2:

Fire stations have responsibility for the sector they are in and are the closest to if they are busy on a call other engines will respond but those engines have to travel father and it takes more time.

If someone had a medical or fire emergency at the time of the false alarm it put everyone in that sector at addition risk of a slower response time. False alarms also waste resources. There is a reason for a hefty fine triggering a false alarm.

In Texas, a false alarm or report at any location is a class A misdemeanor. The penalty can include:
A jail sentence of up to one year
A fine of up to $4,000

Dr. ExLax apparently is an expert in firefighting and response team. What area is he not an expert in?

You're making a lot of assumptions.

If it was a coordinated effort, then absolutely find out who was involved and punish them accordingly.

Conspiracy would also be a charge they'd likely face.

But no, it was not an attempt to shut down the country. That's what the MAGA morons were trying to do.

It was at worst, an attempt to delay a Congressional vote by an hour, which is NOT in the same class as attempting to overturn a legitimate Presidential election by taking part in a violent uprising, or riot.

Trying to equate the two just makes you all look desperate, silly and even more dishonest than you already look.

And tell us, Nostradamus, why does it have ANYTHING to do with other Democrats?

“Trying to force a shutdown of our country”.

And the stupids just keep on coming….
