Most Gazans didn't support Hamas attacking

Tel Aviv is 42 miles from Gaza and on the same cost as Gaza. Tel Aviv has a population density of 22,000 per sq miles. Gaza has a population density of 15,000 per sq mile. Tel Aviv has about 4.4 million people. Gaza has about 2.1 million people. Tel Aviv is considered a vacation destination and Gaza is an "open air prison". If Gaza is an"open air prison" is a prison of their own making. They could have had a beautiful place to live but they preferred to make war instead.

Tell us how half the population under 15 caused their own imprisonment.

Tell us how their parents spent their time and money making war instead of making peace and a vacation paradise. If you had a neighbor that was hellbent to destroy you wouldn't you want to have a security wall between you? Gaza was not always walled off but they have always been hostile to Israel. Israel has about 2 million Palestinian citizens. They live in peace and prosperity but of course they aren't trying to destroy Israel either.

Yep, I knew you’d fail. You never let us down in that respect.

Indeed.

The Braves were the best team, on paper, but the games are not played on paper.

This Biden administration is a joke…a bad joke.

They are allowing the tiny nation of Israel to respond to the slaughter and kidnapping of many Americans.

It’s a terrible precedent to not respond when multiple Americans are slaughtered and kidnapped for ransom.

Biden continues to harm Americans and America.

This is a joke, right?

You want America to engage our military? You want American soldiers in harm's way?

I've had similar experiences flight training foreigners. The worst were the Saudis and Italians, the best were the Norwegians and Spaniards. The cultural differences are clear.

We also had one minor issue of a Saudi not likely having been assigned a female instructor. The Navy's attitude was "This is our program. Your choice to participate or not." The Saudi liaison officer agreed. The student chose to suck it up and focus on training.

When I was in boot camp the US was training Iranian sailors at the time (the Shah was still in power). Their training lasted 24 months to try and get them to where we got in 8 weeks.

LOL. Where do you put 1 million refugees?

Maybe New York City? After all, Bribem is doing the same damn thing to the US right now with his open borders policies...

150 known or suspected terrorists caught coming in this year so far... We up to nearly 7 million since that jackass took office.

That doesn't mean it's easy for everyone to get out.

It's impossible for some.

It is the height of "see no evil" for people to think the Gazans can just easily pick up and move somewhere safe. It's risible to think there are adults who don't understand that Gaza is one step away from a walled ghetto. And it's not like the folks in Gaza have a LOT of expendable cash to just pick up and catch a flight to Lake Como until it all cools off a bit.

Hamas did this to their own people as well as the innocent Israelis. Hamas is hiding in and among the innocents in Gaza like any terrorist would.

This is a nightmare for everyone involved because there is no easy answer to any of it. The Israelis are right to be enraged and want to hammer the enemy. Just like we had the right to be enraged after 9/11 and attack the enemy. And history saw how well we handled that.

I WISH there was an answer.

The Israeli answer is violence. Hamas is not wearing uniforms. When Israeli troops go in, they will kill many many young men. That will exacerbate the hate from
Palestinians forever. There are 2 million people pressed into Gaza. Many will die and their homes will be destroyed.

I remember in Norfolk Iranian sailors and one of their ships in port This was in 69'

I never said it would be easy. But saving your own life is pretty important and worthy of a difficult effort. It may be impossible for those that are being forced to stay by their overlords Hamas. In that case Hamas will be responsible for their deaths not Israel who wants them to leave.

My physics study buddy was Iranian and his father was a 2 star general under the Shaw his dad survived the Revolution. His day was about the be promoted to a 3 star general when the Shaw fell. ALL the 3 star generals we executed. His dad survived because his dad was over the University where most of the revolutionaries started and they liked him. Regardless someone shot his hat off his head. :whoa:

This is a situation where Israel can't wait 20 years for a peaceful two state solution to be found.

Based on what the barbarians of Hamas did, Israel would be negligent to not execute a military response.

I don't think a military response has to mean go in and just blow up everything. I'm not a military tactician, but I assume IDF could clear Gaza block by block, engage Hamas fighters where they are encountered, and round up people for interrogation for Intel on where Hamas hideouts are, where their weapons caches are, where their networks of active supporters are.

The USS Brooke story...

I was in Shop 51A Outside Electrical with SIMA San Diego at the time. The Brooke, a frigate was being sold to Pakistan and there was a Paki crew aboard learning how to run the ship. I went aboard with a helper from my shop and three riggers from 92B to reinstall a vent fan in the engine room. You have to recognize this fan and the duct it was in were about 3 feet in diameter and about 5 feet long. I was the senior Petty Officer so I was in charge of the work.

A Chief and his guys were aboard teaching the Paki's how to light off the boiler on the ship while I was doing the fan. Prayer call went down. The Paki's all headed to wherever they go to bang their head on the deck and moon the rock-in-a-box in Mecca, dropping everything in the middle of the boiler light off...

Well, you can't stop doing a boiler light off halfway through it. Bad things like steam explosions happen if you do. I thought that Chief was going to shit himself. So, I grabbed my guys and offered to help with the light off. I told him I knew how to boiler feeds with the Yarways all he needed to do was tell me what sight glass levels he wanted. My helper and the riggers were doing step-n-fetch stuff and the two guys with him were doing the burners and valve line ups.
We got the boiler up and the Paki's came back after their head banging session.

I heard later that the Brooke suffered a boiler explosion in a Pakistani harbor after the turnover. I wonder why... :palm:

I had a wasp fly inside my faceshield on my helmet once. It is hard getting one out while going 70 mph without crashing but I did it! The grasshopper counts if it got stuck between your teeth.

Yes, that dang thing busted my lips and splattered all over my face. Funny thing, it tasted like chewing tobacco! :whoa:
