Trump did nothing to improve the trajectories of the Obama economies and where their momentum was taking him, and in fact the debt he piled on it, was turning the economy into a downturn even before covid hit.
So Trump was doing what all Republican's do which is inherit strong economies from Dem POTUS and ruin them.
Pay attention below to the line before Trump and then in Jan 2016 when he took over and how Trump did nothing to improve on what Obama had handed him.

So, what you're saying is the rich got a lot richer under Obama than Trump. After all, it isn't some burger flipper or factory worker who's playing the stock market.
Trump was also the first President to have a pandemic hit the country. It is kinda hard to have great job numbers when the liberal governors shut their state economies down. COVID ended a prolonged period of economic growth. But nice try
