Speaker of the House - ”we don’t live in a democracy.”

For the one millionth time this isnt a democracy shithead. Do you vote on every matter of govt business?

No, but that is not to say that we shouldn't!

There are major propositions that come along that should be put to referendum in elections held by the people!

Next!

That does not make us a non-Democratic Republic, it does make us a Constitutionally limited Democratic Republic. We do have limits on democracy, that does not mean we do not have democracy.

I get that you majority rules idiots WANT us to be a democracy, with the belief that you can brainwash the stupid masses of 18 to 25 year olds and you'll have permanent power, but up until the 17th Amendment, we only voted for one real office, that of your US representative.

we are still a REPUBLIC, with limited democratic principles.

that’s called a Democratic Republic.

Some say American is a oligarchy, not a democracy. Others say America is a corporate two-party duopoly, not a democracy. We're seeing it now with the attempt to take down the No Labels Party.

So some of these cries of the desire to support or 'save' our democracy ring rather hollow.

They are not mutually exclusive you dumber than fuck lie stack

Who is killing who here you dip stick?

Your bubbas are murdering people because they hate democracy

Who should we believe? You or Thomas Jefferson?

Eternal Vigilance is the price of democracy.

An informed citizenry is at the heart of a dynamic democracy.

A properly functioning democracy depends on an informed electorate.

Who should we believe? You or Alexander Hamilton?
From Hamilton's notes for ratifying speech -
the proposed government a representative democracy.

1. House of representatives directly chosen by the people for two years.
2. Senate indirectly chosen by them for six years
3. President indirectly chosen by them for four years.
☞ Thus legislative and executive representatives of the people.

The founders were smart enough to know that we are a representative democracy and not just a republic.
Hamilton's notes point out that monarchies and aristocracies can also be republics.

Republicans lie

Right not a democracy. You know that

Dear fucking idiot

The founders changed the meaning of the word Democracy by forming a hybrid that rocked the world

Denying facts and history is for you losers

Believe lies all you want skunk brained loser

America has already chosen reality over Republican lies

It’s why you keep losing elections

Fuck you very much

You bring up an interesting wrinkle, On paper we are a democracy, Our founding documents created a democracy. Legally speaking, we are a democracy.

What you are talking about is how our democracy has been manipulated and run as if it an a defacto Oligarchy or duopoly. Really two separate issues.
