Haiti has been run by despots since the time of the French, Aristide was the only one voted into power by Haitians until Bush II and the French conspired to remove him. The French to their eternal shame, allowed Baby Doc to go into exile rather than allowing the people to hang him from the nearest lamppost.

You failed to mention that half a dozen families own the country and yes, that is the nation the right wing wants. As long as they're one of those half a dozen oligarchs.

If citizens desire something, then, and take that responsibility, they make the government through revolution.

USA does not make a coup and then declare it was the will of the people.

True, but many times the people of that country desire freedom and are willing to accept responsibility but due to overwhelming military strength and brutality of the oppressor need assistance. That's where the US of Fucking A comes in. :)
