This is all true. Most of us who support reproductive freedom are in favor of some restrictions on access to abortion. Past the stage of viability, absent compelling health reasons, seems reasonable. It appears that the voters in Ohio agree that using hyperbole and shaming and the power of govt. are not effective ways to deal with this issue.

Abortion is not birth control and very few women choose it over contraception in the first place. I'm very pleased that freedom won in your state, and that your forced-birthers lost. Now maybe you can at least pretend to care about the already-born and work to help ensure that they have nutritious food, good educations, safe homes and schools, and reliable affordable daycare so that their parents can remain productive.

More so a big nite for abortion advocates, particularly advocates who were Democrats, but since neither Biden nor MAGA were on the ticket, it really doesn’t give us much insight into 2024. Doubtful Trump will take a real position on abortion in 2024, we’ll get the “leave it up to the States” deflection, so it is difficult to project if the issue will play a big role in a national election

In the end, it all goes back to whether one values life in absolute or qualitative terms.
