You Trumppers were sure China was about to attack Taiwan, today Xi has come to the U.S. hat in hand to beg us for economic investment.
True, but that doesn't mean that down the line they won't get Taiwan like they did Hong Kong.

I am pro Trump, pro MAGA, pro revolt against the failed elite class.....
I have said for a couple of years now that the CCP has no intention of solving the Province of Taiwan problem through military invasion....if if comes to this it will be considered a failure of the Party.

They had a contractural agreement that Hong Kong would revert to them.
Taiwan fought for and won their independence.
Very different situations.
I’ve traveled to both, incredibly different places.
Yep, I've been saying there is only about a 1% chance that China would invade Taiwan for several reasons including this ...

They got Hong Kong because Great Britain's lease ended. To get Taiwan they'd have to take it by force like Putin is trying to do to Ukraine.
China would love to get their hands on the huge chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor. For some reason, china is not a big player in chips. It's america, S korea, and taiwan.
An invasion of taiwan would not surprise me.

They also had a contractual agreement to leave Hong Kong alone for 50 years, it has been barely 20 and they broke that without a second thought.
