TRUMP: “I will also make it a personal mission to completely eradicate...”

I liked the dark, starry night sky, not having to lock my door, sleeping outside, the horses, the owls, hawks, water fowl, wild rabbits, and scenic vistas.

"I liked" are the key words there.

None of that stuff does much for me.
People are indeed different.

Truth is never wrong. What people do with the truth is all on them.

I'm a RWer who believes in personal accountability. Trumpers believe they are not to be held responsible.
Please respect the difference between someone who leans right and a fucking scumbag asshole. :)

Stop pretending, Sock.

I never realized that stacking hay bales, splitting firewood, and changing engine oil conferred such a high level of expertise on us!

Amazing, isn't it? I think all of us can lay claim to a pretend career on RB's basis. I got a chipmunk once who had gotten entangled in the bird netting protecting our blackberries. I cut him loose, laid him on the patio table, carefully removed all the bits of netting from his little feet, and applied antibiotic ointment to a scrape he had on one leg. I'm a VETERNARIAN!

So what other careers do YOU have? You've experienced a couple or ten earthquakes. You're a seismologist!

Maybe being where you live, with the 24/7 light, the sounds of horns and voices and dogs barking and sirens, makes you feel safe?

It makes me feel that if I want something stimulating to experience, I can probably find it.

If I found stimulation in the chirping crickets, I would not need an urban environment;
but I don't.

I'm wired different from those who do.
Not better.
Not worse.
Differently for sure.

city people become oriented on dominating other people.

country people learn to make a living from mother earth, through learning, patience and hard work.

It's obvious why totalitarians prefer the city, given this framework.

Agreed on rural living. A minor disagreement on the subject of locks; locks are for honest people. Leaving something unsecured or unlocked can be seen as a form of temptation.

That said, I'm also reminded of Robert Frost's "Mending Wall" oft-quoted line "Good fences make good neighbors".

I wouldn't choose to live in the boondocks permanently, but I am glad for the experience.
Having had the opportunity to live on farms, in large cities, in smallish college towns, etc. gave me a chance to learn something about myself.

Message boards have a habit of turning a lot of posters into armchair experts!

Agreed but it's also a main draw for me since the puzzle is to see who knows WTF they are talking about and who is full of bovine excrement. :)

Sadly, all of the political extremists are full of something and it's not good.

The extraordinary thing about message boards is that I've never encountered a poster who has a very modest house, drives a crappy old car, has a dumpy middle age physique, and will admiy ignorance and humility on a subject if they feel their ego is at risk.

Based on how posters self-report themselves, I have always found JPP to be a remarkable collection of affluent people, who are tall, physically fit, with well above average intelligence, and expertise on just about any topic you want to discuss.

Sometimes the pseudo-experts are Googling for tidbits of info so frantically, I imagine smoke coming out of their keyboards!

I've split a cord of wood with an axe. That must make me a lumber jack. : )

Looks like the pussy posse is coming after me! Oh, how can I survive :dunno:

Yeah, you're a lumberjack, all right You don't have what it takes to split wood

I see a tribute thread of your own in the very near future...they've been unable to lure you (unlike a few others) into their abyss, so the clown car attacks are all they have left, and when those don't work, The Tribute Thread...lol
And remember...Karma is the most patient gangster ever...

Yes, my dear, it certainly is, as you've found out, and will continue to learn, to your sorrow. :rofl2:
