Harry Reid told reporters just last week that trying to deal with Snowe was a complete waste of time. I'm sure she was so pleased by his remarks that she has decided to not only support healthcare reform, but to switch parties altogether.

Its still possable, the rumor comes from a friend who is a staffer for a senator.

The supermajority may be back, baby!

The true implications about loosing the supermajority is that the R's will frustrate every effort to get a jobs package passed! They got to try to keep the recover off ballance until the election.

Does anyone deny the Republicans would like to keep any recovery off ballance until the election?

yes, because any overt intent to avoid a recovery also destroys their re-election chances.

Both current liberals and republicans have been put on notice that their jobs are on the line with the galactic spending.

It will not be overt, it will be covert; hidden in the cloaths of a conservative argumet.

Much like how Palin supported Bush'a 700 Billion dollar bailout yet opposed President Obama's 764 Billion dollar bailout.

or voting for it before they voted against it. :palm:

In a tactical manuver many senators and congressmen vote for a bill then later vote against the final version. To the ignorant, it can be made to look like a flip flop, but if you understand the rules of procedure and the way the Congress works, it is very often NOT a flip flop! Senator Kerry's mistake was thinking that the average American would understand that. The Bush campaign's advantage was that they did not think so highly of the American people.

Jarod, slow down, take a deep breath and do your best to form a cohesive sentence so the only thing we don't do is walk away shaking our heads, k?

It is entirely possible. The Dems are so pissed they'd lie about anything and pretty much do anything to get this Health Care bill passed.

This is what is out there currently on it though.

Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), whose influence has grown in the wake of Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts, is puzzled over comments made by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about her intentions to strike a bipartisan health care deal.

I agree the rumor is quite likely false, thats why I said it was from an untested source.

Had I said a reliable source I woul be vouching for the creditability of the source. I do not belive it is unlikely that such a deal is being worked on currently with several of the more liberal Republican senators.

I don't know what your smoking Jarod but I'm awfully offended that you didn't offer to share.

You do not belive such negotiations are taking place? I dont know that they will ammount to anything, but I am sure the Democrats are trying to recrute a Republican about now!
