The invite only attendees are, Joe and Jill Biden, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Michelle Obama and Melania Trump. I am very surprised that the Bushes are not attending. I wonder if they were invited or not. Why is Barak not attending.

These things are very interesting to me. I thought Barak and the Carters were good friends.

A memorial service for former first lady Rosalynn Carter will be held Tuesday in Atlanta.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, President Biden and first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and all five living former first ladies — Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton — are expected to attend what is being billed as a “tribute service” at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on the Emory University campus.

But you didn't get one so you don't have to worry...;) I imagine she had a part in planning this service... she want to meet was an amazing woman and this looks to be a very lovely personalized ceremony... (when you think about it though Invitation Only doesn't need much when it's being broadcast;))

I voted for Jimmy Carter twice, when he beat Ford and when he lost to Reagan,
but I never voted for him in a Democratic Primary.
Never disliked him. Just didn't vote to nominate him.

This can be said of virtually every Democratic nominee except Kerry in 2004.

This has nothing to do with the funeral, of course,
but as we've noted, I wasn't invited.

Maybe they had prior commitments? I was surprised that the Slovenia Slut would show up. Classy of the Carters to include her though.

ETA: Just read Guno's post. Looks like protocol is to invite former and current First Ladies to a FLOTUS funeral.

I voted for him twice as well, and would have done it three times if possible. Both of the Carters are/were inspiring examples of the best that America can offer. We were blessed to have them as our leaders.

It would have to be a significant prior commitment to justify missing this.

I voted for him in the 6th grade mock election against Reagan. I was assigned to debate as if I was John Anderson, in the mock debate. Later, Anderson was a law professor of mine.

Apparently Garth and Trisha have been very close with the Carters. I'm not surprised. Garth is a big 'Habitat for Humanity' guy. I heard that they bought the Carters a vintage 1946 convertible for their 75th anniversary. They were married in that year.

The Carters have more class and integrity in their little fingers than Trump or any of his supporters or sycophants. It makes me sick to see them degrade the Carters. Actual Christians bother them tremendously.

I am a HUGE Garth fan. Saw him in Vegas a few months ago, great show. He has a residency at Caesars. Garth plus 1. The 1 is Trisha, she comes on stage for maybe a half dozen songs.
