Why in the world would Newsom agree to debate DeSanits on Hannity?

Can you imagine the type of questions the doughboy will ask each:

To DeSantis; Governor explain how you have been so successful in Florida?
To Newsom; Why is California so crime ridden, overrun by drug addicts and smash and grab theives?

Can’t imagine what Newsom is thinking, the only ones watching will be MAGA cultists, not like he is going to win the support of a Fox lemming let alone a Hannity groupie, and the only thing coming out of it will be framed quotes taken out of context for Fox’s Friday morning propaganda

Newsom is skilled at handling himself, better at it than DeSantis has shown himself to be in the GOP debates. Why he is doing it, however, with the primaries approaching is an interesting question.

Can be skilled all one wants but responding to loaded questions while the other guy gets softballs is a Catch 22
 
Its really no lose for Newsom, it elevates him in the race for 28' as long as he holds his own.

For DeSantis its a hail mary.

“Hold his own,” are you missing the fact this is on Fox moderated by Hannity, even Secretariat couldn’t compete in a race at a mile and a quarter when his competitors are racing a half mile

Then Newsom has an excuse if he fucks up.
 
I give all 3 men a little credit for having this event.

Hannity may be trying to legitimize Fox News as a more fair and balanced Opinionated/News source. All of his shows that hosted Newsom previously, were all smash hits for Hannity. And I look for this to be another. And Hannity is smart enough to know that he can't just hardball Newsome, and Softball DeSantis, so I believe most of the questions will be universal to both Governors.

DeSantis has the most at stake here tonight, because he is actually a Candidate and has the most to lose. So, I believe he shows courage to be there tonight, knowing that Newsom is a good debater, probably better than himself in terms of his soft spoken delivery style and debonairness (Is that even a word?). But, I believe that even though he is a bit challenged here, he will come through OK on his delivery as well. He will get his message out OK, and pretty much hold his ground. I think his attacks will mostly be gentlemanly.

Newsom, has performed well on some past interviews on Hannity's show already and feels comfortable there. It has been a long strategy of Newsom's, to speak directly to Republicans, and what better way to do that, than on Fox News?

Of course, these two are 180 degrees apart on policy, so there should be lots of back and forth, and it will be a lot of fun to watch Hannity just turn them loose and watch them go!

I will be watching the Cowboy game instead. However I will look into see if Fox re-airs the show after the game is over. Because I would like to watch the debate.
