Gold bars stashed in Dem senator's home recovered after 2013 violent robbery

There are a lot of stories about that very thing happening to people who deposit large amounts of cash.

https://www.businessinsider.com/the...The IRS is using a,a public interest law firm.

So, he's not just pulling some desperate, Santosian nonsense out of his ass, that has zero basis in reality.

I'm not defending him mind you, but his explanation, when viewed in perspective, should be given at least some consideration.
Agree, and the point isn't even WHY he has the money hidden. The question is where it came from along with the gold bars?

His claim is that it's just money that he's earned over the years and was not comfortable with it anywhere but in his home.

Yes, I got all that and it doesn't have the ring of truth to it, especially the gold bars.

But there's a lot more credibility there than there was with Santos, also refused to admit he'd done anything wrong in spite of the evidence being so clear that the deaf dumb and blind kid who sure plays a mean pinball could see it.

Santos' win was more about a hotly contested governor's race that brought a lot of Republicans to the polls. Coupled with illegal newly created districts by some out of state special counsel.

Perfect storm, as it were.

The money Menendez had was in a envelope that had the fingerprints of the Egyptian guy who bribed Menendez on it. Menendez also says he did nothing wrong. Fetterman who knows all the details says you can't want Santos gone and not want Menendez gone also.

The money that Menendez had stuffed in his jacket had the Egyptian guy that bribed Menendez on it. They have him dead to rights.

Well, if Melendez is as guilty as the evidence seems to indicate he is, then he'll be convicted and evicted.

Put the fact still remains that his public behavior wasn't embarrassing like the little freak Santos's was.

Also, the Senate as we all know, moves more slowly and deliberately that the House.

He will get whatever is coming to him in the end.

So taking bribes isn't an ethics violation, interesting.

He broke campaign laws and rules. Those are political violations. His lawbreaking is a task for the law to work on. Can you really not understand the difference? Interesting. You are proudly and stubbornly ignorant.

Schumer is going to do nothing with Menendez' seat coming up for a vote in November. I'm quite sure Jersey will dump him.

I still say he's a security risk until then, and should be stripped of assignments.

I dunno.

As closely as he's going to be watched from now on, he won't be able to take a shit and feel like he's doing it in total privacy.

I kinda doubt he'll be taking any chances.

Makes sense, but his wife is the key operative.

I'm sure she's under a microscope too.

I think the voters in Jersey have had enough
