Some Democrats join Republicans in voting to strike down Biden's EV mandate
The House voted Wednesday evening in favor of legislation striking down federal regulations targeting gas-powered vehicles which, according to the White House, are designed to "accelerate the transition to electric vehicles."

In a 221-197 vote, the House approved the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act with 216 Republicans and five Democrats voting in favor. A group of more than a dozen Republican lawmakers, led by Reps. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., introduced the legislation in July in response to the Biden administration's tailpipe emissions regulations unveiled months earlier.

"The passage of the CARS Act is a massive victory for every consumer and the entire American auto industry," Walberg told Fox News Digital. "Biden’s mandate has always been unrealistic, and a textbook study on how central planning and Bidenomics simply do not work. Mandating EVs has never been a responsible or affordable solution."

"Americans should always have the option to buy whatever car suits them the best and the House has taken a massive step toward ensuring that opportunity still exists," he added.

The CARS Act would particularly block regulations proposed in April by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which would significantly increase tailpipe emissions standards for gas-powered cars. The bill would also prohibit any rule mandating the use of a specific technology or regulations that limit the availability of new vehicles based on engine type.

If the EPA rule is finalized, the White House projected that a staggering 67% of new sedan, crossover, SUV and light truck purchases and up to 50% of bus and garbage truck purchases could be electric by 2032. While the proposal isn't technically a mandate, the Biden administration boasted it would be a key part of its efforts to push greater EV adoption.....

The White House can't have the EPA mandate ICE cars off the market by making ridiculous emission standards. This was a BIPARTISAN vote.

Joey Crapitalist is totally incontinent in his lacy panties.

In 2 years they have yet to install any chargers. It will take decades to get the infrastructure ready

OMG! Who would drive one of these things? You would need 3 parking spaces to let the back seat passengers out.

The government should let the free market decide what they want. EVs are getting better but they aren't the versatile vehicle that ICE cars can be. If you are good with a city car they are OK.

The Democrats are pushing their brand of socialism. Democrats think you are to stupid to make choices the Democrats wannt to control you

Biden's little Green scheme is falling apart.

Open your eyes, ExcessLies. You're blinded by the right.

historic: US EVs skyrocket past 1 million sales, up 50.7% YOY

Year-to-date US EV sales have surpassed 1 million – the first time EV sales exceeded that threshold in a single sales year.
The National Automobile Dealer Association (NADA) reports that through 11 months of 2023, BEV sales totaled 1,007,984 – an increase of 50.7% year-over-year.

What happened to the Steelers I was rooting for them.

Too many starters are hurt, but that's still no excuse to lose to the Cardinals and the Patriots. It was a glimpse of hope when Canada was fired, but then they had more injuries afterward. Our young QB is hurt now too :(

The Steelers are going through a tough year of growing pains and injury. It happens to the very best NFL teams. The Cardinals and Patriots you mentioned are going through the very same thing.

And these teams will all be back to Complimentary Football and back in the race for the title again, JUST NOT THIS YEAR.

Be proud that the Steelers are still a great franchise, knee deep in talent, rich in NFL winning tradition and they really don't need all that much to get back to kicking asses all up and down the football field again Sir! The glass is half full- Not half empty!

Yes. Every dynasty has fallen. We have some good players, but some of them are older. Fans really like our young QB. Hopefully, when he returns, our offensive line will get a little better, as with the play calling.
The defense isn't bad, even with all the injuries. But it's hard not to get tired when you're out on the field 3/4 of the game. Our coach is not one to cry, but the officiating has been one sided, and it is obvious.
Yeah, all in all. it's been quite a while since we've had a losing season. We have a large fan base and a winning tradition. No, probably not this year.

There have been so many games that got out of control this year, some that didn't make any sense at all.

Teams just have bad days. And no matter what they do, the luck and the calls tends to be one sided sometimes. Just look at how San Fran mopped up both the Cowboys and the Eagles this year. Those were obvious flukes. San Fran has a great team, and some of the best talent in the game, but they are certainly no better than the Eagles or the Cowboys.

The Cowboys and the Eagles put so much into their efforts to beat each other, that they overlook some of these West Coast teams and learning how to beat them- because they are different and deserve a lot of study to figure them out.

Oh, well, Sunday Night's game will be one of entertainment, and it should be fun to watch for all Football fans.

And the winner of this game may just become the one to have the opportunity to play San Fran again!

Next year Pal- The Steelers will be back!
