John Fetterman: "It's time for the GOP to get their...

but damo.

even legal immigration suppresses the wages of american citizens.

why dont you care?

restricting and opening up immigration seem to be at odds.

Only if you are simple do they seem contrary because then you won't be able to understand the difference between legal and illegal entry and the differences in how they should be treated.. you'd be like Biden then, just mouthing words you can read on a prompter without understanding or relevance.

Restrict illegal entry by incentivizing legal entry.

it's all theoretical though, isn't it?

It's something to strive towards rather than simply complaining about the braindead pResident or hoping that Scalise's return will make it so they can impeach Mayorkas.

would a massive amnesty making all the illegal immigrants legal and on the up and up be acceptable to you?

...balls out of trump's desk..." Fetterman's got his mojo back and we Dems are here for it. Pay attention, trumpers.

Full quote: "It's time for the GOP to get their balls out of Trump's desk and vote for what you've just been yelling for for the last months, and we need to stand with all of it," the Pennsylvania Democrat told Newsweek Tuesday.

He continued: "We need to stand with all of it. Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan. We have border security. Here it is right there—vote."

Rest of article here.

Fetterman supports Israel over Hamas. He says Hamas could end this today by surrendering. Do you agree with him or do you support Hamas hiding behind women and children.

You did misquote it, you left out the part that was most important to put the quote in context.
...I quoted the part we were discussing...that shutting down the border was possible... so that was all that was necessary...He doesn't need the bill to pass to shut down the border...
He could do it right now...
He won't....

You can shovel shit anyway you wish, but it’s still shit and you purposely left off the part of the text which put it into context. The End.

Well, Magats seem to be for taking positive action using the current laws to bring the flood down to a trickle before working on adding new laws. They seem to believe that deliberately breaking the system and then saying, "You need to fix it!" to folks you don't like seems to be the current "plan" and it isn't working. Even Biden, whose representatives and appointees (Mayorkas) have been telling us the "border is secure" for 3 years now, now wants you to believe he sees it is a crisis and wants to fix what he deliberately broke (over 535 executive orders just on immigration alone) and spent 3 years sending out appointees to tell you that the "border was secure".

I, personally, don't like either plan. I prefer something that favors the folks who legally entered the nation and opening that up (legal pathways to immigrate) to far more folks than ever before, but if you enter without the legal checks at any point in the border necessary to ensure we at the very least know who you are you get to go back to wherever you came from and cannot reapply. Just do it the right way. Simple. Direct. And doesn't require walls and/or for "Mexico to pay for it". Let Border Security get back to securing our border rather than just being paper pushing bureaucrats filling out entry forms and decades long waits for courts for folks entering on an other than legal path.

Under current immigration law, which the bipartisan bill would have corrected, anyone claiming refugee status is “legally entering,” plus, the proposal would have instituted tougher standards for those entering to include right at that point sendings the migrant back, it replaced catch and release. In addition, judicial personnel would have been installed right at the border to grant those hearings that under current law can take years to accomplish

Nothing personal, but like many critics here, you never knew the contents of the proposal, here, Landford’s own summary:

We let over a million a year in now
maybe increase it to 1.25 million but no more than that. I'm not opposed to more J visas but if you get pregnant you go home to have the kid. J visas should only be good for a year at a time max. J visas only for areas where we need the labor.

the time for us "being reasonable" has passed.

none of your "more reasonable" things will ever be picked up in this state of affairs.

you must rally for trump first, or your "more reasonable libertarian stances" are just masturbating on the fence.

Bush, Obama, and Trump all attempted to deal with the border via EOs, none ended the problem, the rhetoric that the President can just close the border is inane, there is a reason why in four years Trump didn’t order a closure of the border

And the just enforce the laws we already have is also erroneous, the laws we have now is the problem, they are antiquated

It is just the same irrelevant rebuttals the right throws out their anytime they are questioned on the border, “he can just close the border,” or “he can enforce the laws we have now,” neither are accurate

Oh I want a fence for sure and also mass deportation.

The bill takes all litigation about the border and requires it to be filed in DC not in Texas or the 5th circuit. Why do you think that is important to them?

You don’t have the slightest inclination of what was in the proposal, instead are just regurgitating AM radio talking points, the vast majority of which are erroneous

Here, educate yourself before you look foolish running your mouth:

The border was doing just fine until Brandon broke it on purpose.

lankford's article is bullshit.

it has nothing to actually slow illegal immigration.

it will speed it up with more funding to facilitate more processing,

and it will take judges out of the loop.

so corrupt globalist cbp agents can just decide on the spot.

and aid for ukraine and israel of course....
