Why does the Supreme Court have authority to tell states how to run elections?

The people get to decide for whom they vote for president.

There are state elections going on at the same time as the federal. It makes sense that states should determine who can vote in their election. It makes no sense that states should determine who can vote in national elections.

But there are only local elections for President. There is no universal standard.
 
Yes indeed. The 10A gives the states the right to throw people off the ballot. Of course, this applies to red states too. If they want to say the open border policy of Joe the Pedophile Vegetable is insurrection and we're taking him off the ballot - they can do it.
