Democratic congressman hits Super Bowl fans for not standing for 'Negro National Anth

So you judge 70 million people by the actions of a few we even called assholes? But then, you are a socialist...

When I see Republicans denounce Jan 6 ,instead of brushing it under the rug ,I will take your flag waving, song singing seriously! Till then fuck Trump and his fascist supporters

"My favorite part of the Super Bowl was not Taylor Swift.

It wasn’t the commercials or even the legendary miracle overtime ending.

While the halftime show was great, it’s not what moved me.

All of these aspects of the Super Bowl yesterday were fun and special in their own way.

None of them top Chris Jones.

During Reba’s performance of the national anthem, Chris Jones was in tears.

That moved me.

Chris Jones weighs about 300 pounds and he’s over 6 feet tall.

What a way to show the world that it doesn’t matter how big and strong you are, it’s OK to show your emotions.

A wonderful message for young men everywhere that admire football players for their strength and athleticism that it's OK to cry.

Jones is also an ardent supporter of our military and our Veterans.

At a Military Training Appreciation Camp event in which he participated, he said, “This was really important to me just because of the work the military puts in to preserve our freedom in this country. I have people in my family that are in the military – in the Navy and the Army – so it's dear to my heart."

When Jones cried during the anthem yesterday, I felt that in my heart.Because I too feel emotional when I hear the national anthem.

I will never shy away from saying that because this country gave my parents everything when they had nothing.

This country saved my parents from tyranny and oppression.

And while she isn’t perfect, America is my home.

I'm proud to be American.

Thank you Chris Jones for this beautiful moment." And obviously this should have quotes at the beginning of this message which I'll fix...lol

I see no demonstration of you being a good person. That'd be hypocritical, now wouldn't it?

Not really. It's just your opinion. Sorry! :D Unlike some of you, I have no need to constant toot my own horn about "donations," LookAtThisMemeSeeI'mNotARacistReally! (as in post #146), patriotic smarm, etc.

Let's define the term for you and your virtue-signaling toxic twat. The use of the term in a sentence here is particularly you. lol

Lol! You are the forum witch, no?

The definition is used is in my post

Not sure what makes it [the anthem] necessary at a sporting event.

I find nationalist chauvinism to be tacky and cornball at best,
and devisive at worst.

Some people, however, actually think that it's patriotism.
Whatever. It's hardly our biggest problem.
I personally enjoy it I always have and no it's not our biggest problem..I played it at every swim meet ...inside or out... never had a complaint... people always stood very respectfully...teams and Spectators... pretty special moment...

Indeed, well said.

My esposa and I both commented about Chris Jone’s tears and how wonderful it was to see a black super athlete showing his emotion and love of country.

Patriotism is an ugly word to most of the far left Democratic Socialist loons on this forum.

They ridicule those who talk about patriotism.

I would love for them to try to ridicule Chris Jones to his face.

You know what the funniest
Thing is...if someone else would have posted that pic they would have been singing their praises...;)

Indeed.

Patriotism is a virtuous feeling of love, pride, and sacrifice for one's nation and its people.

It derives from the Greek language.

Virtue is its own reward.

These far left Democratic Socialist loons who have no pride in America are slugs who have failed in life and now hate America.

When I lived in Spain, they spoke of “patria” (homeland) and “gracia” (grace).

They would say, “Sevilla esta llena de gracia.”

Seville is full of grace.

A beautiful country whose citizens are fiercely proud of their patria.

Yes. That remains a popular opinion, particularly among conservative people.
It seems cornball to me, but obviously, everybody doesn't see things the same way.

You won’t have to worry about it much longer, old man.

The Grim Reaper has never lost yet.

The Grim Reaper has never lost yet.

Nobody my age has to worry about it much longer.

That seems to concern you, Vandy Clown, a lot more than it concerns me.

As for the Green Reefer guy, I believe he lives in the same retirement community
as the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the sane Republican.

Nonsense, old man.

Death is an eternity without life, the abyss.

In your case, your sacrilegious barnyard prose is the equivalence of the small boy whistling past the graveyard.

You are far closer to “that good night” than I.

Still envious of being denied entrance to a top 20 university like Vandy, I see.

‘Do not go gentle into that good night”

Dylan Thomas
1914 –
1953
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

and that's okay ...but I imagine if you are going to see a sporting event and they play the anthem the vast majority would be respectful and stand... it's not just conservative with good manners....;) I'm curious they play the national anthem when they have local boxing matches here... is that not a thing everywhere?
