Judge orders Trump to pay nearly $355 million in civil fraud trial

He was charged with inflating the values of his real estate astronomically. He lied about the sizes and values by many multiples. He was cheating on his taxes for decades. 355 million payback will hurt him bigly. He is banned from operating businesses in NY for 3 years. He is already stopped from running charities due to his looting them.
Eric and Jr are fined 4 million each. Weiselberg gets a 1 million fine.
Ivanka escaped.

So there was no jury trial even though the 7th amendment guarantees you one in all civil suits over $20. The judge just declared trump the loser.!!!

Yes it makes President Trump all the more sympathetic, more in tune with the average guy on the street who has been a victim of an unjust legal process.

Firstly Trump did not request a jury trial. Oops.

Second NYS does not require one, in cases like this. Had Trump asked for one, it would have went to a hearing and could have been granted. At least part of his case was eligible for jury trial so the judge might have let it all go to jury to not split the baby.

But Oops, Alina Habba did it again.

(their stupidity is our super power)

More sympathetic with people that have committed real estate fraud maybe

Good news! I find it hilarious that the man who made his bones being a NY celebrity real-estate tycoon will wind up at least 3 of his remaining years an outcast from the self-same area he tried to make his own.

It's not an insubstantial amount of money. It'll be interesting to see where DJT digs it up from. Not sure how easily one can declare bankruptcy to get out of legal fines.

This will be reversed on appeal. So you libtards shouldn't get too excited.

You can always hope!

But just in case you might want to break out the checkbook tonight and make some more "campaign donations" to DJT. Or, better yet, try to find a Cancer charity one of his sons is running, and donate to that...I'm sure the Trumps will get around to misappropriating from it like they've done before.

You would have said that no matter what the judgment was. The 335 million will hurt him. His not doing business in NY for 3 years was not severe. Trump never gets unjust treatment. He has the best legal representation. Why would anyone sympathize with a crook like Trump?
Trump will have financial babysitters overseeing his operations. They know he would cheat.

Your mom, for one.

Well, this was just for not paying his state taxes.

But, if he didn't pay his state taxes in full, he didn't pay his Federal Income Taxes in full either.

So, if the IRS now sues him, for what he owes them- it'll be a lot more than 355 million!

So he better be glad they aren't investigating him. He was on Audit, but that has stalled because of lack of funds.

They may now though, based on this win!
