OK. Since the treaty is meaningless then no country has to spend 2% because of a meaningless treaty.
In reality, the treaty says that an attack on a member of the NATO treaty is an attack on the US. You are arguing that if the US is attacked that we shouldn't respond. Do you really believe that? or are you just so busy with your head up Trump's ass that you don't care if the US is attacked?

Funny thing about Ukraine is that most European countries have provided a larger % of their GDP to the defense of Ukraine than the US.
Then on top of that, European countries have taken in more refugees than the US. Germany and Poland have each taken in over 1 million refugees while the US has taken in 100,000.
The average EU citizen has provided more financial support to Ukraine with their taxes than you have.

Interesting argument. Do you really believe that? The contractual obligation under the treaty is that if one nation is attacked then it is an attack on the US.
There is no contractual obligation to spend 2% of GDP on defense. There is a side agreement to try to target that amount.
Setting a target is NOT a contractual agreement.

It's terrifying in a way. I really don't remember this many stupid people before the age of Trump. I find myself often torn between thinking that they were always stupid but at least tried to hide it in the past and thinking that they went from reasonably rational to insane because of Trump's rhetoric and their susceptibility to right wing dramatics and propaganda.
In either case, I'm convinced that the cult is the single greatest threat and enemy to American democracy. They can be as stupid as they want as long as they have no meaningful influence or power.
