Why LBJ is ranked in top 10 or 12 presidents

Because he did things the Left likes to buy votes. They leave out all the bad stuff he did that made him a one term president, like the Vietnam war...

Political extremists tend to only see good on their side and all the blame belonging to the opposite side. Don't you agree, Terry?

Many of your family relatives, and possibly even you, are on Medicare, disability, or benefiting from another of the myriad domestic programs LBJ put into place.

That is one measure of his importance and legacy: we are still in some sense very much living in the world LBJ built.

As to Vietnam, it doesn't pass the laugh test that conservatives are posturing as the resolute Vietnam war opponents.

Until about ten years ago, message board conservatives almost to a man thought we should have stayed in Vietnam fighting to the bitter end, and they blamed the dirty hippies for forcing our troops to come home.

So? If Medicare didn't exist other health insurance or care programs would. The same goes for most of his social agenda.

As for Vietnam, you are using a non sequitur fallacy. What veterans think we should have done once committed to a war in Vietnam has nothing to do with LBJ getting us into that war to begin with. You claim Bush was bad for getting us into Iraq. Well, that's a pretty damn close analog to LBJ getting us into Vietnam. You could even make a pretty good case in both instances that they outright lied to get us involved.

Nope. LBJ recognized that leaving old people to the vagaries of private insurance and free market principles was unsustainable.

Capitalist insurance companies lose money on old people

Take your grandmother's Medicaid away, and ask her to shop for affordable private insurance operating on your cherished lassaiz faire free market principles.

If conservatives want to complain about LBJ, they are not allowed to complain about Vietnam. It was conservatives who wanted to keep fighting on to the 'final victory' in Vietnam.

Because you disagree with their ranking does not make them corrupt or ignorant.

Who would you put #1?

All things considered, I would place Donald TRUMP at #1.

GO TRUMP GO !!
LET'S CRUSH THAT OL'
SLEEPY JOE !!

Dachshund - the WONDER HOUND

DLM....Dachshund Lives Matter !

All things considered, I would place Donald TRUMP at #1.

Why? Because he's an adulterous, racist, oath-breaking traitor who is weakening the United States of America to the applause of anti-Americans all over the planet?
