why you don't demand government training and licensing for your rights

A former Special Agent with the IRS, Larry Edward Brown Jr., was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on one count of Involuntary Manslaughter of an Officer of the United States in connection with the death of Special Agent Patrick Bauer.

According to the Department of Justice, on August 17, 2023, Special Agents of the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) used the firearm range at the Federal Correctional Institution – Phoenix for standard pistol qualifications and classroom training.

The 48-year-old Brown, from Peoria, who has served as a special agent for IRS-CI for over 12 years, is a trained Use of Force Instructor.

After all training had concluded for the day, Brown entered a building known as the “Tower,” a small, one-room structure with an interior measuring approximately eight feet by nine feet, located on the range where firearms instructors can observe and command live-fire trainings. The only other occupant inside the Tower was Special Agent Bauer, a 15-year veteran of IRS-CI and a trained Use of Force Instructor, who had led the live-fire pistol qualifications that day. As alleged in the indictment, while inside the Tower, Brown handled his firearm without due caution and with reckless disregard for human life, striking Special Agent Bauer in the torso with a single gunshot.

Despite life-saving efforts by agents at the scene, EMTs, and hospital staff, Special Agent Bauer died as a result of the gunshot wound.

Stupid Klutz.

The better reasoning is a simple one. Rights are inherent, including the right of self defense. They simply don't require training or even a 'blessing' from a government agency.

The 2nd Amendment prohibits either the federal or any State, county, parish, or city government from passing any law that infringes on this right.

Finally the Supreme Court is slowly beginning to recognize this.

Ironic for someone, who teaches gun safety, shoots his fellow instructor in the TORSO, in what is being referred to as an accident.

My question- Why do IRS agents need firearms?

And why are IRS agents acting as Firearms Instructors at a Federal prison, of all places?

Over 500 people die from accidental shootings every year.

Look, I am no firearm instructor, but I have my own rules when shooting semi-automatic pistols at the range.

When you are through shooting at your target, remove the clip, and force eject the bullet in the chamber- even if you know by counting- one is not there!

Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?

And unless you are firing at a target- KEEP YOUR FUCKING FINGER OUT OF THE TRIGGER HOLE!

There is never a reason why one would have their trigger finger in the trigger hole, when you are not ready to fire at a target.

And NEVER point your weapon in the direction of someone or others you do not intend to shoot- LOADED OR NOT! JUST NEVER DO THAT PERIOD.

This is just common sense stuff.

Here is an idiot that violated every one of my personal common sense rules!

Obviously, not all people with gun in hand, at the range, or anywhere else, use common sense all the time.

Take this reckless idiot out back and shoot this idiot in the ass for GENERAL PRINCIPALS, and then hopefully the family of the victim, sues what is left of his ass, for everything he owns!

Those aren't just YOUR rules, they're the NRA's rules (but you HATE the NRA)

It's no secret that we like guns here at the NRA and, if you're reading this, chances are you're a big fan of guns too. For all the fun we have with firearms, it's a priority that they're treated with respect and in a safe manner.

1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
