HOW BOUT THAT STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH PERFORMANCE!

Wow. Even CNN thought it was crazy political and that he sounded like an angry old man yelling at kids on his lawn for most of the speech. Then the "how many thousands are killed by illegals" mess up... that was brilliant. I see they corrected it on the transcript, but I'm pretty sure you're going to hear it on an ad.

Jacked up Joe is what I heard folks calling him. They had him so hopped up on speed he had a hard time standing still. Overtly and deliberately acting to pull Americans into their own corners and keep them separated. Someone needs to tell him that yelling doesn't equal "energy". I'm certain that the leftists are thinking he's "back" and, in that, it was a successful speech to a base.

When some people have no legitimate criticism of something that was overall, very well done, they take out their little scalpels and split hairs.

When it's all you've got, it's all you've got.

We understand.

So, Biden can't really win then. The right was ready to ridicule him for showing up and sounding feeble & lost - and now he was too strident.

A few on CNN said that, but most thought he did a good or great job. It was a good speech.

LOL. Now you know how Trumpers felt. No real path to "win"....

Despite Biden's gaff with "Lincoln" and a few mistatements, I think the biggest problem for the Republicans will be Trump's public reactions on Truth Social, X and the media.

Americans will have a clear choice between an old man and a fucking moron.

The antics of Congressional Republicans will be adored by MAGAts but I doubt those actions will have the same impact on most American voters who expect their leaders to act more mature and responsible than obnoxious teenagers.
You could see that Biden was owning the room, but at times he was using his mechanisms to avoid stuttering. At times he was speaking very fast to the point where it was hard to understand him.

Agree about the antics, and the good news is that the Independents who decide all elections will not be impressed with trump's toilet tweets, or his Klan rally rhetoric in the coming days.

I don’t watch CNN, but friends do, and they say it’s leaning more right, as are some programs MSNBC.
New ownership is cleaning house, and the programming is giving a voice to the Right. Which shouldn't be a bad thing, but those they choose are delusional.

He did a good job of commanding the room. I'm not familiar with the mechanisms to avoid stuttering but that makes sense given his behavior.

Agreed about Independents. The MAGAts will become their own worst enemies. All Biden has to do is look competent and sane then stand back and let the MAGAts fuck themselves over.

Each person has their own mechanism. I've noticed that stress typically brings out the stutter, so they employ their given mechanism. I witnessed one bank teller do a subtle click of the tongue every few words.

I'm not sure exactly what Biden does, but he either felt that he was getting behind the prompter, or he was managing his speaking issues. I see he did have a written copy of the speech on the lectern.

It was probably the most important speech of his career with a lot of unknowns waiting for him so I understand the high level of stress involved.

When he did the debate with trump, he almost lost control when the tangerine wouldn't stop interrupting.

He ended up telling him to shut up, and referred to him as the worst POTUS in history.

Breaking decorum is only bad for sane, respectable people, not traitors, pedos or other scumbags.

If the State of the Union address is about the state of the union and America, why would you start your speech off with a rant about Ukraine and Russia as if we were at the height of the Cold War in the middle of say, the Cuban missile crisis, and then tie that to your political opponent in your upcoming election?

Shouldn't the most important issues to the union come first, or is Ukraine, a nation we have no particular ties to and doesn't hold much importance in the world picture, the most important thing to America and Americans right now? I don't think it hits in the top 10 let alone as the most important issue we face.
