march 9 2024 The GOP is calling for the dismissal of charges against the man arrested for heckling at President Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech Thursday, the New York Post reported.

Steven Nikoui disrupted Biden’s speech and was arrested. His arrest came with a $50 bail and the prospect of a $500 fine or jail time, according to the New York Post. House Republicans are calling for the charges to be dropped as they pointed out the injustice of penalizing a father’s outcry over a personal and national tragedy. Republican Florida Rep. Mike Waltz has also offered to pay the fines related to the incident.

Nikoui’s son, Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, died in the 2021 ISIS-K suicide bombing amid the chaotic evacuation from Kabul. The attack killed 13 service members, and this prompted a relentless quest for answers and accountability, according to the New York Post.

“They have every right to say, ‘Where is that explanation?’” Republican California Rep. Darrell Issa said of the Gold Star families, the New York Post reported. “’Where is that apology? Where is the legitimate investigation so it doesn’t happen to somebody else’s family?’”

Regardless, he dishonored his son for making an ass out of himself. There are smarter, more honorable ways to protest the clusterfuck that was the evacuation of Kabul.

I wouldn't doubt some Republicans put him up to it. Probably the very ones offering to pay his fines.

No we aren't. We're discussing the fact that trump's surrender to the Taliban, coupled with his demand that 5000 terrorists be freed, caused the terrorist attack that killed 13 American soldiers.

Soooo....to be clear....Biden followed Trump's plan and, therefore it's all Biden's fault. Trump is, once again, not responsible for anything he does or did. Is that correct?

Maybe the guy's 1st Amendment rights were violated and nobody gives a fuck because he was an annoying pain in the ass,
or maybe he was violating some disturbing the peace ordinance.

In any case, he's being fined five hundred bucks, not being shot.

If Biden sent somebody to actually shoot you, TDAK, do you really think anybody would care?

Actually, he couldn't. trump already surrendered and released 5000 terrorists from prison.

trump begged the Taliban not to attack American troops in exchange for a full surrender. We were already there longer than the terms of the surrender.

I don't agree with removing troops first. Biden should have brought more troops in to aid in the evacuation.

If trump hadn't freed the terrorists (clearly, he has some sort of bond with terrorists) the bombing probably doesn't happen.
