Donald Trump will not fund Ukraine's fight against Russia's invasion if he is elected US president again, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban has said.
"He will not give a penny in the Ukraine-Russia war. That is why the war will end," the conservative premier said after meeting Mr Trump in Florida.
Mr Orban is openly backing his long-term ally in the 2024 White House race.
"It is obvious that Ukraine cannot stand on its own feet," Mr Orban told Hungary's M1 TV channel late on Sunday.
"If the Americans don't give money and weapons, along with the Europeans, then the war is over.

"Mr Trump on Monday described Mr Orban as a "tough man", saying the Hungarian leader believed Russia would not have invaded Ukraine had the Republican leader been the president in 2022.

"All of those dead people in blown-up cities because Ukraine is now just like a demolition site, what they've done to Ukraine – none of that would have happened," he told CNBC.


Mr Trump, during his election campaign, argued that the US should loan money to Ukraine and not just "hand it over" to Kyiv as military assistance. "Loan them the money. If they can make it, they pay us back. If they can’t make it, they don’t have to pay us back," he said at a rally in South Carolina.

Mr Biden reiterated his criticism of his election rival for meeting Mr Orban after the president’s campaign alleged the Hungarian leader had "rigged his political system to keep himself in power”. ( )

Sounds pretty typical of the average MAGAT, too. They've treated us to decades of wailing about foreign aid, alliances, the UN, NATO, etc. If they only have $5 to spend, $4 of it would go towards weapons.

The US has given BY FAR more money to Ukraine than any other country in the world. It is time for other countries to step up. I'm all for helping Ukraine after Biden reinstates title 42 and State in Mexico and promises not to revoke them. Fix our borders first and then Ukraine's. That is reasonable. If the Democrat want to help the Ukrainians that is the small price they will have to pay.
