Exactly! Biden only had like 12 official papers with the proper heading of Classified on them.
But what he got in trouble for were the many notebooks (That spanned 15 years) that included language from classified documents in a few cases. There was no exact numbers of that mentioned in the report. But it was enough to be a clear violation of the rules for handling classified documentation laid out by the State Department and Department of Defense as both departments provide classified materials.
There was not even a mention in Hur's report to the Attorney General, if the information in Biden's notebooks were concerning documents that have been since de-classified, or were still considered classified information. The same thing goes for the notebooks Biden turned over to his Ghost Writer.
Like I said before, what Biden did, Trump did, and even what Pence did- were 3 different things.
Biden and Reagan were accused of doing the same things, and what many other presidents, as well as many other politicians did as well, through the history of the government.
And so the reason Hur did not charge Biden for Mishandling official classified "INFORMATION" (Not the official classified documents themselves) as he was using the precedent that no other President or politician was ever charged with this same violation before. So, Hur had no legal precedent to use in charging Biden with a crime.
In fact, Trump is only charged with lying to officials, and covering up evidence, and involving others in his coverup, and forcing them to lie about it to the authorities- WHICH WAS AN OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE similar to what Richard Nixon was going to be charged with, before he was pardoned. But he is not being charged for mishandling classified "Information" or even the "Classified Documents" themselves.
But Hur did do something very unethical and unprecedented, He "cleared" and then "smeared" Biden. That violated the DOJ code of ethics policies. The DOJ is not allowed to personally smear anyone they do not intend to charge.
And then Hur violated DOJ ethics again, by saying in the Congressional hearing, that he did not exonerate Biden.
But he did exonerate Biden as far as this evidence goes, as there are Double Jeopardy laws, and even STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS laws that would apply in Biden's defense.
SO Hur will probably be reprimanded by the DOJ for his recklessness in the manner of which he conducted the Report and his testimony on the Congressional floor, as he was not being totally honest about why he cleared Biden, what he said in his report, and what he said at the Congressional hearing on the matter. That's like 3 strike against him!
Hur has either resigned from the DOJ just before the hearings, or he was fired. Press says 'resigned'. Evidently you cannot publicly comment on investigations if you are part of the dept..
I did find it curious that no mention of the nature of Biden's documents was discussed.
