Is USA Racist?

Members of every nonwhite ethnic group have perceived racism. Even few European ethnics, such as Irish and Italians, were not considered "white" and were victims of racial discrimination also.

Major racist USA institutions include slavery, Indian reservations, segregation, internment camps and denial of human rights to nonwhites.

From their first immigration to America, Chinese were denied rights. Despite their hard work and intelligence in the gold mines and to build the trans-continental railway, the racism of USA led to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which barred Chinese, except for a minority wealthy class, from entering the United States for a period of 10 years.

This was followed by a wave of anti-Chinese immigration laws and court cases that made their way to the Supreme Court of the United States.

USA discrimination against Asians, Africans, Latin, Muslims and Arabs is widely acknowledged.
Racism is alive and well in all countries. There are racists and non-racists in all countries. The USA makes discrimination based on race illegal and prosecutes people for it. The government protects the civil rights of citizens with statutes and laws in accordance with the Constitution.

China just kills the people that protest.

Are your childish taunts evidence of your personal racism? It seems so.
He was just saying the truth. China is racist.

He has admitted his own hatred of Chinese people. However the question refers to USA as a whole, not one confused small boy.
I don't see any expression of hatred above. Just the truth as he sees it. China is racist.

I do not hate any nation. On what do you base your false assumption, please?

Are you stating your mandate to represent many USA residents? Why use "we", if not?
You question painted the entire population, dude.

You stray from the issue because you wish to allow yourself to deny your racism?
I repeat: There are racists in every country. There are non-racists in every country.

China is replete with hypocrisy regarding civil rights. Don't talk to me about the poor, mistreated minorities in the USA until you stop trading sex slaves and killing protesters.

Run away.

Your retreat is telling, I think.
You gloat as if you won an argument. That's not quite the case. Often it is easy to recognize hardheadedness and stupidity and to move on to more intelligent conversation.

"Often it is easy to recognize hardheadedness and stupidity and to move on to more intelligent conversation."

You are indeed correct. Thus this will be my sole address to you.

So, you have no facts upon which to base your assumption, only more infantile insults.

Perhaps another young child is expressing rage or boredom. It seems so.

In China, such Internet forums as this are platforms for serious discussion of issues and are trafficked by adult people.

Is it not so in USA?

In china you shoot people for having wrong thoughts.

Like other cults in the world, "Falun Gong" not only seriously goes against the ethics, law and order of the human society but also gravely threatens people's normal religious belief.

"Falun Gong" misguided cultists do not consitute a racial group. So, therefore, what ever you think of China's internal policies there is no bias of racism involved.

Persecuting people for other reasons besides race is also morally wrong.

Upon its initial introduction to the public, the government of China not only acquiesced to its spread, but even encouraged it, inviting its founder Mr. Li Hongzhi to teach in government facilities, and praising the practice for the benefits it brought to public health and morality.

Popularity: The more popular Falun Gong became, the more resistance it encountered. Party leaders fear any large, independent spiritual group. When Falun Gong books became bestsellers in 1996 they were banned; when a government survey estimated that over 70 million people practiced Falun Gong - more than the Party’s membership - media began attacking Falun Gong and state security began spying on and harassing adherents.

Individual leader’s role: Personality may have also played a significant role. Fearing Falun Gong’s rapidly growing popularity was overshadowing his own legacy, then-Party leader Jiang Zemin ordered that the practice be “eradicated.” According to a 1999 Washington Post article, “Jiang alone decided that Falun Gong must be eliminated.” Journalists and inside sources have described Jiang as “jealous” of Falun Gong and “obsessed” with eliminating the group. As China analyst Willy Lam has argued, by creating a national campaign Jiang sought to both align power to himself and eradicate a group he saw as a threat to his power.

Conflicting ideology: The ideological differences between the atheist Communist Party and the spiritual Falun Gong must also be taken into account. Falun Gong’s deeply spiritual belief system and its moral code can be said to be rather inimical to the beliefs held by the Communist authorities. Moreover, although religion is again becoming increasingly popular in China, religious groups must submit to the state and their leaders must be Party approved. Other groups who, like Falun Gong, have chosen to preserve their belief system and refused to submit to the Party’s authority have also met with persecution.

Nature of CCP rule: Finally, the persecution of Falun Gong can be said to be simply the latest in a historical continuum of violent campaigns that the Party uses to consolidate its control. Indeed, since the 1950s not a decade has gone by without some violent state-led campaign aimed at the masses, be it the suppression of “counterrevolutionaries,” the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, the 1989 crackdown on the democracy movement, or Falun Gong.

Of all the available explanations for why Falun Gong was banned, one explanation most commonly cited in the media – that Falun Gong was banned as an “evil cult” – is false. It wasn’t until October of 1999 that the Chinese government attempted to label Falun Gong an evil cult and enact a legislative decision to retroactively justify the ban on that basis. The persecution had in fact officially started three months earlier, and when it began, the “evil cult” language was absent from the official discourse.

If the rights abuses are so widespread and severe, why doesn’t Falun Gong feature in the news more often?

As governments engaging in massive human rights violations often do, the Chinese Communist Party has gone to great lengths to hide the atrocities it is committing from journalists, scholars, human rights organizations, and other independent researchers who might document and publicize the persecution of Falun Gong. Much of the abuses take place behind closed doors, in detention centers, labor camps, and as Chinese lawyer Gao Zhisheng recorded – mountainside torture chambers.

Chinese who try to investigate the abuses risk losing their careers, their freedom, and possibly their lives. Gao was “disappeared” by the Chinese authorities in February 2009 and has not been heard from since. Groups like Amnesty International are simply not allowed into China. Foreign journalists based in the country stand to lose work permits and have been physically assaulted for trying to report on Falun Gong. Some media outlets they work for risk having their publication removed from stands or their websites blocked at a time of increasing competition to gain a foothold in the Chinese market. Moreover, Falun Gong adherents who have acted as informants to foreign media have been detained, imprisoned, or worse. [For a more detailed analysis of foreign media reporting on Falun Gong, see this recent academic study.

Together, such obstacles have created a situation where months—or even years—might go by without a major news story on Falun Gong breaking. But as the accounts posted daily on Falun Gong websites and several independent investigations that have been carried out testify—that doesn’t mean that the surveillance, arrests, and torture that are daily realities for millions of peaceful believers in China have stopped.

The fallacies of "Falun Gong" prove that it is an anti-humanity, anti-society and anti-science cult.

Li Hongzhi, founder and ringleader of "Falun Gong" currently lives in New York.

He has made up large numbers of lies and fallacies to deceive his practitioners and the public.

Li Hongzhi says that the mankind has been destroyed 81 times, that the earth is about to explode very soon, and that he is the only one to prevent the explosion.

He says that the earth is the dumping ground of the universe, with the United States being the largest of all, and that only by practicing "Falun Gong" will one be able to escape.

He claims to be the ruler of the world and bigger than the universe.

He prohibits religious beliefs among the "Falun Gong" and accuses religions of deceiving people. He claims that even the holocaust of Jewish people by Hitler was a result of changes in celestial phenomena.

He makes absurd assertions that "science is forced upon the mankind by extraterrestrial beings", that the computer was invented by the extraterrestrial beings to control the mankind on earth and that science is a cult.

He says that the "Falun Gong" must not see a doctor or take medicines to treat disease because "real practitioners never get ill". He even claims that "by practicing Falun Gong, one will not be killed even if he/she runs into a car".

He asks the "Falun Gong" to give up everything and "let go the thoughts of life and death to become god", and boasts that he will create a miracle by "making all practitioners fly in their body when they reach all-round fulfillment (in other word, die)".

He calls those who prevent the practicing of "Falun Gong" devils, and says that "the regicidal devils must be killed" and that the "Falun Gong" who hurt or murder their kin may pay back afterwards.

Li Hongzhi used these lies to manipulate the minds of the "Falun Gong" and caused needless deaths of large numbers of practitioners.

Over 1,000 practitioners died because they followed Li's teachings and refused to seek medical treatment for their illnesses.

Several hundred practitioners committed self-mutilation or suicide.

Over 30 innocent people were killed by mentally deranged practitioners of "Falun Gong".

In view of the serious violation of human rights and other criminal activities of "Falun Gong" cult organization, the Chinese Government outlawed this cult according to law in 1999 and issued a warrant for the arrest of the suspects including Li Hongzhi.

Christianity is just as non factual as falun gong. Why do allow the lies of christianity in your state?

I challenge you to provide a link to a falun gong site, supporting your interpretation of their beliefs.
