Top 10 Fastest Electric Cars From 0-60 MPH. MAGA soils diapers.

It's a well known fact (even to us ICE owners) that an electric motor has instantaneous torque. But the battery doesn't produce the 240 or 480 volts that will wind them out, so in distances, they aren't any faster than an ICE. And on nice winding country roads, even the fastest EV doesn't stand a chance against my Cobra because they are too heavy to take a turn fast and they're too hard to slow down (and would eat the brakes alive!).

Who said they would beat a high power unstreetworthy ICE? EVs are not track vehicles. Neither are vans and pickup trucks. In fact, EVs have very long-lasting regenerative brakes. EVs produce very high acceleration, yet are useful for errands and driving with several people in it.

They are not cheaper to make...or insure...or repair.

The article is correct about even small damage caused by a collision usually results in a total writeoff, junking the car. If a SINGLE CELL becomes damaged, the car is totaled. That damage is hidden until the fire starts.

This is why insurance for them is very high.
They aren't cheaper to make either. They cost 2-3 times what a gasoline car would cost.
Even maintenance on the EV is a nightmare. Practically EVERYTHING is a dealer repair. EXPENSIVE! EVs are the most recalled cars as well, usually to software problems.

...and you thought the software in the ECU was difficult to deal with!!

Teyy will be cheaper in the near future as soon as the Chinese owned plants in Mexico start pumping them out. As for overall cost, the insurance companies as well as the cities that have lost revenue streams from taxing fuel, are already coming around.

I will keep my ICE thank you very much..

How fast do EVs go 0-60 in Zero degree weather?

You provided the perfect reply to Expresslanes idiotic post, which is the same recycling, of the stupid argument of 'if i can find an area an EV does not work great in, then EV's are no good'...

It's still under cover. Too cold to drive

...While ignoring how many CLASSES of ICE vehicle there are as not every ICE vehicle is ideal or useable in every situation and we could play the same game of showing where an ICE sports car is not great. An Ice Sedan is not great. An ICE pickup truck is not great, and so on and so on.

But 'whatabout that EV that cannot do XYZ'!!!! Is a stupid argument that will not die.

SO what?

What you say was the SAME exact issue most ICE American Muscle cars suffered for decades. Mustangs, Corvettes, Grand Nationals, and so on and so on.

Most had big block engines that could run a quarter mile in a straight line in impressive times but when it came to cornering and braking they sucked donkey balls.

I remember my old track days racing my Porsche Boxster S versus the 'Big Block' guys and they would scream off at the start, and then i would catch them and pass them, in the corners, as the Boxster hugs the corners like a go cart with its mid engine design and Porshe more even approach to power.

Over a long race no one was choosing the muscle cars as they were just too hard to keep from crashing, or they were more likely to break down.

And YET Americans lover their muscle cars, which was just fine. If all they cared about was the rush that came with that acceleration, i was fine with that. It was their money.

BUt you fucking magats who CANNOT and WILL NOT accept that a person who is not you, can want a car for reasons you do not, just get stuck on stupid. You guys continually point at what YOU want a car for (has to be great in cold weather... has to be great in corners) as a reason to insult others and the vehicles you do not want.

WHY?

(answer... )

...because you are stupid ...

Roadworthy, Sock. The word is roadworthy.
High power ICE vehicles are quite roadworthy and street legal.
EVs are not track vehicles.
If you can drive it on a track, it's a track vehicle as well.
Neither are vans and pickup trucks.
Vans and pickup trucks are also driven on tracks.
In fact, EVs have very long-lasting regenerative brakes.
ICE use engine compression for that kind of braking too. Meh.
EVs are much heavier cars. They burn up their brakes.
EVs produce very high acceleration, yet are useful for errands and driving with several people in it.
Not as useful as ICE cars. You're waiting for your stupid car to charge while ICE cars are driving past you on their way somewhere.

I will keep my ICE thank you very much..

Plants in Mexico will make no difference.

that's the retired teacher in me I'm always very patient and tolerant... especially when a poster is a bit out of control and acting out...

I'll give you that, but he's not required to attend class here, and there comes a time with every disruptive student when you might have to send them to the office or eject them from class.

That's always a last resort... special needs teachers are expected to handle the situation themselves... you often can’t depend on an administrator.... different sets of rules you know...

In such cold weather, EVs are no good. In inclement weather, EVs are no good. Their limited range is FURTHER reduced by inclement weather. They take a long time to recharge. They are expensive. They have high insurance costs. They are expensive to buy, repair, or maintain. Their own weight makes their maneuverability suck. They do not 'save the planet'. They have limited range. Most of them can't tow.

They suck.
...While ignoring how many CLASSES of ICE vehicle there are
Irrelevant. Divisional error fallacy.
as not every ICE vehicle is ideal or useable in every situation
ICE vehicles are useful in every situation, whether it's a semi hauling goods to market, a lone driver in a compact car commuting, an SUV full of kids heading to the baseball game, a family of four heading out on vacation, a rancher hauling equipment to the field and using it, racing them, mudding, plowing snow, hauling a load of concrete to a jobsite, or simply enjoying the road with a sports car or motorcycle.

ICE vehicles float, fly, and drive on and off roads.

and we could play the same game of showing where an ICE sports car is not great.
It is.
An Ice Sedan is not great.
It is.
An ICE pickup truck is not great, and so on and so on.
It is.
But 'whatabout that EV that cannot do XYZ'!!!! Is a stupid argument that will not die.
Divisional error fallacy.

An EV cannot carry a planeload of travelers to Las Vegas.
An EV cannot haul goods to market effectively.
An EV cannot handle a family of four going on vacation at all well.
An EV cannot go very far without spending hours recharging.
An EV cannot be repaired at home using fairly common tools.
An EV is not an off road vehicle.
An EV is not capable of working in a mine.
There is no practical EV aircraft.
There is no practical EV freighter.
You cannot carry a fuel can to refuel your EV.

If I tell them I have them on IGNORE,
... then you aren't ignoring them.

why do they keep replying to my posts?
Because they can reply to whatever posts they feel like replying to, including the posts of people who have (even actually) ignored them. That's how online discussion forums work. Public posts can be responded to by the public. I realize that this deeply bothers liberals, but that's just the way that such forums operate.

So he explained what, Sock.
What you say was the SAME exact issue most ICE American Muscle cars suffered for decades. Mustangs, Corvettes, Grand Nationals, and so on and so on.
ALL of these cars handle better than an EV.
Most had big block engines that cold run a quarter mile in impressive times but when it came to cornering and breaking they sucked donkey balls.
Blatant lie.
I remember my old track days racing my Porsche Boxster S versus the 'Big Block' guys and they would scream off at the start, and then i would catch them and pass them, in the corners, as the Boxster hugs the corners like a go cart with its mid engine design and Porshe more even approach to power.
You are comparing your Porsche to an EV??????!?
Over a long race no one was choosing the muscle cars as they were just too hard to keep from crashing, or they were more likely to break down.
I will call this argument 1.
And YET Americans lover their muscle cars,
I will call this argument 2. Congratulations. You are locked in another paradox, Sock.
which was just fine.
Apparently it is NOT fine with you!
If all they cared about was the rush that came with that acceleration, i was fine with that. It was their money.
That it was. They chose the ICE. So did you.
BUt you fucking magats who CANNOT and WILL NOT accept that a person who is not you, can want a car for reasons you do not, just get stuck on stupid.
MAGA isn't a person, Sock. If you want to waste your money on an EV, that's your own choice. You cannot just ignore the subsidies and mandates though.
You guys continually point at what YOU want a car for (has to be great in cold weather... has to be great in corners) as a reason to insult others and the vehicles you do not want.
It's not an insult to point out the problems of an EV. If YOU take that as an insult, that's YOUR problem. As far as insults, you are just describing yourself. You cannot project YOUR problems on anybody else.
WHY?
(answer... )
...because you are stupid ...

QED

I'm trying
No, you're not.

but they keep stalking me.
A bit paranoid, are we? ;)

Learn how PUBLIC discussion forums work.

They can't stop replying to my posts.
Oh I definitely could, but why would I want to?

Even after I tell them they are on IGNORE.
You're not ignoring anyone.

Do you talk to people who ignore you?
You're not ignoring anyone.

And re: the ignore feature on this forum, I can respond to anyone and anyone I wish to respond to. This is a PUBLIC discussion forum, after all.
