Republicans were against...

I think I'll take a big piss on a BLM and LGBTQ rainbow flag then light them both on fire. Nobody say a word. Its my right...RIGHT?

It would be your right, and it would be anyone’s right to say what they want about it.

It wouldn’t be the governments right to make it illegal, or to use the presidency to try to get you fired.

the conservatives on the supreme court would never allow it. try to understand history and you won't look so retarded all the time

Jarod is of course trolling and two can play his game.

Depending on who you ask America is a fundamentally racist country, founded to protect slavery, and we are just as racist today as at our founding. The longest running political party in this country? The Democratic Party. So they are intertwined with this racist history.

I'm sure they'll try and say "we stopped being racist". Ok, when was that? A term we hear a lot is systemic racism. A big part of that is the claim that the criminal justice system is racist and unfairly convicts minorities, specifically black people. Go back to the 1987 crime bill. Hard to believe now but the Democrats, in an attempt to win back Congress, tried to paint Reagan as soft on crime so they came up with a very 'law and order' type crime bill which included making sentences for crack cocaine (which was devastating black communities at the time) very harsh. Who played a role in that? Yes, our current President Joe Biden.

The 1994 crime bill signed by Bill Clinton has been pointed to as legislation that locked up more black men than any other. Who was the principle writer of that crime bill? Our current President Joe Biden.

We could go way deeper but this is good for now. Putting either political party up on a pedestal like they are some deity is fools gold yet here we are...

Yes the Democratic party is intertwined with racist history.
There is racism in the Democratic party.
The Crime Bill in 1994 and 1987 were racist, but better than what they replaced.

We can and should do much better.

What did the 87 and 94 crime bills replace?

Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina et al left the Democratic party because Kennedy/Johnson supported the Civil Rights movement.
A higher percentage of Republicans voted for the Civil rights bill than Democrats did. Without the Republican votes for the Civil Rights bill the Democrats would have blocked it.

So you are saying that Republicans are pro-Gay rights, pro-Gay marriage, pro-women's rights, pro-free speech.
I want Gays and women to have the exact same rights as every other American does don't you? And yes I want free speech and that is not having the Government telling Social Media who the government wants banned. How about you?

An archaic system of criminal laws that had developed into an ineffective and easily manipulated criminal justice system.

Admittedly I don't have the knowledge to get into a granular level debate over the intricacies of the criminal justice system prior to, and after, these two pieces of legislation. What I do know is I read Michelle Alexander's book "The New Jim Crow" which largely referenced these two crime bills. So it rings difficult to me to understand that as an improvement. (The CBC supported the '87 bill and stiffer crack cocaine penalties. Whether they did it because they were being loyal to a Democratic bill or because crack was devastating their communities and they thought this was necessary I can't answer.)

The bills were over harsh and did not consider how they might disproportionately affect the minority communities, but the provided more consistency to the CJ system, to sentencing and provided some integrity among the sentences from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. There was less racist results then there were prior except maybe in the Cocaine v. Crack cocaine punishment scheme.

Shamefully both bills did nothing about white collar crime, while made punishments for street crime much harsher.

The bills were, if not on their face racist, defacto racist in the result.

I find it refreshing that you support same sex marriage.

As long as they are your flags. If you shoot a some African-Americans and gays to steal the flags, that's a crime.

Interracial marriage

Actually, that was the Democrats. The biggest bloc to opposing it was the South and at the time, it was controlled by the Democrat party.

Obamacare

Anyone with half-a-brain would oppose it. All Obamacare has done is raise health insurance costs, reduce choices in plans, and add a layer of unnecessary government into the whole health insurance mess.

Same sex marriage

35 states had votes on same-sex marriage when that was a big issue. Those wanting it lost 35 times, including in California where the ballot measure was for a state constitutional amendment. The proponents of same-sex marriage then went to court--after saying they'd respect the will of the voters--shopped judges, and got all that overturned. Unelected judges made same-sex marriage the law, not voters, not Republicans, not Democrats.

Isolationism

Really? When?

The latest round of these, Trump raised them--particularly against China, then Biden came into office and lowered them and got rid of the restrictions on China...

I am sure there are many more, but they only move forward once society has left them WAY BEHIND.

As usual, you have it backwards. The Left moves society into a ditch that destroys it. And today, the Democrats are the Left.

That fucker never tires of his bullshit, it's truly juvenile.

Jews care nothing about the goyim bible we follow Torah given to us on mount sinai

life does not begin at conception under Jewish law. Sources in the Talmud note that the fetus is “mere water”
before 40 days of gestation. Following this period, the fetus is considered a physical part of
the pregnant individual’s body, not yet having life of its own or independent rights. The fetus
is not viewed as separate from the parent’s body until birth begins and the first breath of
oxygen into the lungs allows the soul to enter the body.

Abortion legal in Israel
All Israeli women seeking to terminate a pregnancy (and have it paid for through state health insurance) must appear before a three-person committee, but in practice nearly all requests are granted. There are no laws limiting when an abortion can be performed, and a woman whose request is denied by the committee can still seek an abortion at a private clinic. Estimates are that about half the abortions performed in Israel are done in private clinics. As of 2014, abortions were paid for entirely by the state for women aged 20 to 33, and subsidized abortions were granted for those outside that age range.
