G.W.Bush do you miss him?

Be fair. Those deficits were in response to the economic and military debacles Obama inherited from Bush. Had not the Federal Government taken action when it did, even though it required massive deficit spending, then we'd probably be looking at 25% unemployment rates.

Gotta love how there's still people who place stalk in Keynes.

Says the man who cheers on "freezing" spending with massive increases over Bush's spending already cemented in...

Good job. Hypocrisy makes a wonderful dress to parade in. I spent 7 years of Bush's 8 telling people in my party that Bush was killing any trust people had in the republican party to be fiscally responsible and that it would create an atmosphere where a Democrat was elected with a majority that would show people that there really is such a thing as "the lesser of two evils" when it comes to spending.

Patriot Act...though I understand the rationale I wish he'd have herded up foreign nationals and booted them out instead. Still it remains the most unconstitutional infringement ever to our rights.

What I disaproved of that GW did or did not do:

border policies...or lack thereof

negotiated spending in trade for war spending

soft ball approach to finance regulation/reform (only knew after the fact)

His fix to medicare prescription drugs (something he gave to dems) yet they still bitch about it because he did it!

All of that, but especially the PATRIOT Act.

From the pill bill on I constantly harped on his irresponsible spending habits which only got worse when Iraq started.

Amazingly GW was the MOST bi-partisan president ever and for that reason he is the biggest disapointment to the GOP. Look what kind of love it earned him from the left?

No one wants an ideological moderate. Those that critisize Bush's Iraq policies? Look at Obama sending the drones into small provinces and towns in Pakistan. Remember Obama claiming we were dropping bombs from the air in Afghanistan under Bush, killing civillians? What do you think those drones are doing...BTW we did not ariel bomb civilians in Afghanistan.

I'm glad to see that you've found gainful employment, being an Obamopoligist.

No.Couldn't care less about what Obama says Its just simple economic reality that in a rescission is a bad time to stop spending. Not spending that money means that there is less money in the cash flow. And that turns into lost jobs and pay freezes which leads to deeper rescission. If these trillions of dollers used to prop up the economy would not have been spent it would have finally led to an economic crash. The problem isn't Obama's policies. Its its with the lying corporate C.E.O.'s fault.

One of the problems with the current economy is that there's a lot of unused capitol just sitting there being wasted. By borrowing, the government can put this wasted capitol back to use and greatly quicken a recovery.

Ive often wondered Why couldn't the government just print more money? Ive never gotten a good answer to that.

Germany tried this in the 1920s to pay off its war reparations that it was forced to pay after WWI. By drastically expanding the money supply and printing money like crazy, it completely devalued its currency so that it was worthless. The economy fell completely apart, barter became the way of the land (Asshate, you taking notes here?), and Germany was set-up for a Nazi takeover in 1932.

Also, this method has been attempted, less dramatically, in numerous Latin American countries over the last 60 years, and it has always led to massive inflation and economic woes.

Basically, if you print too much money, it becomes worthless.
