Are Republcians against hope and change?

Call me a blind follower, to me it appears President Obama is trying to stay focused on the issues.

Calling for a discussion on healthcare that the Republicans refuse to attend...

There was some call for discussion. But there was also a good bit of "We won and we will push it thru whether you like it or not".

If you have the super majority or not, telling the opposition that they have not say in the matter is not the way to get things done.

And I think the reactions to the health care plans show that.

I belive Congress did that more than the President. I heard the President, just the other day, call for this meeting, then heming and hawing about why they will not attend...

Congress did it more, you are right about that.

obama doesn't want a discussion, he wants a political circus. he has stated that he wants certain items in the bill, period. he will not accept less than those items. he obviously doesn't want to discuss this, he wants to make a political show of this.

He should hold the event anyway, invite C-SPAN and whatever other media want to attend and have empty seats where the Boehner and the rest ought to be. Promptly following the event he should hold a press conference blasting the Republicans for failing to even bother showing up. Then, he should stage a mock-funeral for bi-partisanship.

And how exactly is that any different than Congressional Republicans demanding certain items be in the bill and not accepting anything less than those items??

Republicans obviously don't want to discuss this, they just want to make a political show out of it.

obama killed bi-partisanship less than a month into his term....he doesn't want to hear from those who caused this mess, i won, get over it....closed sesssions that kept republicans out and no c-span per his election promise....

of course you're such an obama apologist, you will not admit this

Conservative Republicans want to reform health care, in spite of your denial.

Right. Obama killed bi-partisanship by giving Republicans everything they wanted in the stimulus bill and forcing them to vote against it. I get it. That really set a nasty tone.
