Reid earlier in the day said, “only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good” given recent unemployment rates.

Looks like Obama, Reid and Pelosi have this job creation thing well in hand. For a while their, Biden was the King Idiot when speaking, looks like Harry, just took the title from him.
 
I suppose Obama was supposed to end unemployment immediately?

Where's your goddamn three trillion dollars in spending or tax cuts? This is why America has such a massive deficit.
 
I like how you completely cut all but seven seconds of his speech, most of which probably contained boring qualifying statements, unsuited for soundbites. Classic angry right-wing non-thinking tactic. You get an A+ in political cynicism, my friend, higher than I'd give even myself.

Really? Because I recall when President Bush was in office, and we created (not lost) 100k jobs, you all said it was disaster! We were lectured on how that didn't even 'break even' because there were 200k who had given up looking for jobs and dropped off the unemployment roles, so they weren't even counted! And besides that, those 100k jobs created were all low wage jobs that didn't mean anything, replacing high wage jobs that did!

Does that suddenly all change with a Democrat in the White House or something? I don't understand!

Well.... It's a good thing Harry thinks unemployment is a good thing... I think he may be experiencing it come November!

There were only 100k jobs created in the Bush administration? I find that hard to believe.

Anyway, this economy is different. Let's attempt not to turn this into a political points scoring game. Obviously, Webb's point is dumb.

I have no serious opinion on this because I was a libertarian back then.
 
Reid can say anything he wants because he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting reelected.
 
I'm not a Reid fan, and he has said some doozies over the years, but this is a fairly idiotic interpretation of what he said.

People WERE happily surprised by the #'s, because 36,000 lost is better than 60,000 lost, and a flat unemployment rate is better than a sinking one.

In a nutshell, it means that things are turning around, which I realize is nightmarish for some....
