Census

That is certainly his perogative. Just as it will be the Democraticly controlled congress to start gerrymandering districts based on the census results. Don't be a crybaby hypocrit. Republicans did the same thing in 2000.
Bullshit. Democrats are the masters of Gerrymandering.

Compare Mell Watts' (D) district 12:

with that of Virginia Foxx (R) District 5:

and Howard Coble's District 6 on either side of District 12.

And this is better than it was, after a retracted court battle because the Democrats had drawn Watt's district to encompass black areas in five or 6 different cities from Greensboro to Charlotte with connecting legs as narrow as I-85 for miles in length.

Wow. Was just a simple question. I was curious to what the federal response would be to people who did that. If it will make you feel better please change the question from the one of race to the one of sex and the person puts Yes as their answer.

Caw, I was up all night studying when I responded to this.

Besides purely statistical purposes, the only other reason I can think of for including race is so that they can create minority-majority districts.

Ironically, racial gerrmandering is greatly to the detriment of the Democrats nationally. You gerrymander Republican by packing 90% Democrat voters into a small district and then leaving several more moderate but safely Republican districts beside it. Racial gerrymandering does all of this for the Republicans automatically, and it's the reason the house is currently so biased towards the Republicans.

No worries. I get why the Fed would want the info. I was reading elsewhere someone claiming people could get in real trouble not fulling filling the Census out or writing something 'funny' like that. I was just curious if that could actually be true.

I really hope a lot of Repubnlcais refuse to answer the census... THat would be helpfull to the Democrats as there districts would be underrepresented.

Thanks for admitting that you think the Census should be used for political purposes.
