Two independent clauses...

I hope Republicans dont answer the census... Because it WILL be used for political reasons.

Just because I hope the first part happens, does not mean I hope the second part happens, I merely know it will.

When Obama came into office on of his first usurpations was to make the Census and put in under White House control. Poor and stupid people are potentially more likely not to complete the forms, but they are also more likely to vote Democrat, so he's working overtime to let these people know that they need to be counted.

The census should never be under the control of the White House, period.

Uhhh Jarod, I know you suck at English and all but this is basic sentence structure here.

"I hope Repubnlcais(sic) refuse to answer the census..." Is entirely standalone. Nothing more needs to be said and the sentence will be proper (more or less).

"...THat would be helpfull to the Democrats as there districts would be underrepresented." does not standalone. It requires the first part to make sense. Therefore it's safe to conclude that you do with the census would be used for political purposes.

Thats why I called them clauses not sentences.

While what you say is true, it does not mean that I hope the census data is used for political reasons...
