DeSantis threatened criminal arrest and prosecution for running a political ad that he did not like. And now a judge has slapped him down with a restraining order, it even had the words, "it's the First Amendment, stupid."

But that was not the whole point of DeSantis' threats. It was about scaring people. It is like the alt right terrorists who threaten to kill the families of bus drivers who drive Democrats to rallies. Whether they kill the families or not, many bus drivers will decide it is not worth the risk.

And thus we slip further into fascism.

No, but trump has already promised that he will suspend the Constitution.

We can all agree that Republicans are becoming open about their opposition to the Constitution, how is that?

Your OP cherry-picks DeSantis but you deny every governor is doing the exact same thing. Lest we forget the patriot acts. You're something else, Walt.

Strike One: The Patriot Act is federal, not state. The governors are not doing anything with it.
Strike Two: The Patriot Act was put in place by Republicans, not Democrats.
Strike Three: The Patriot Act is not about criminalizing political debate.

DeSantis is alone in doing this, but other Republicans are moving in that direction. Democrats are not even thinking about it.
