An example of disinformation in the local paper

I'm not sure if everyone can use the link, and I wanted to point that out up front. It's to an ad in the Arizona Republic published today by a group called Republicans and Independents for America. I can find no, zero, information on this group.

It's on page A4. You can scroll to it, if you have access.

Now, within the ad, they reference as one of their talking points, the American Political Science Association a hard Left quasi-academic entity. It is the sort of group no Republican would be associated with. In fact, several conservative academics in the field of Political Science have ended their association with this group for their hardline positions on various issues.

Why I say this is disinformation is because...

A. The supposed group publishing this ad is not to be found.
B. The ad appeared just days before the election meaning there would be no time for any opposition group to legally challenge it.
C. The tactic in B has been used widely by the Left in the last week.
D. The ad includes references to groups and associations that no Republican would be associated with.

Do you believe there should be a federal law that makes it illegal to publish "disinformation" in ads regardless of the First and Fourth Amendments, Terry?

I didn't see the ad since the link is dated today and your OP was last Saturday.

Inside the Push for Police-Run “Misinformation” Units

Lexipol, a private consultancy geared towards providing services to law enforcement in the US, has come up with a recommendation to law enforcement to set up a “Misinformation/Disinformation Unit.”
Maybe they need a Death Squad like in your country, Almost Marco. :rofl2:

There is a federal law concerning campaign contributions and campaign advertising that requires those contributing or advertising to put their name / organization on it. That isn't "disinformation," it is required so people know who's contributing and advertising for what politicians and parties.

You're free to dodge the question, Terry. TBH, I expected it.

This is all I see on A4

The populist choice for unaccredited digital information has left
the once far more reputable print media in a sorry state.

We're in a dark age.
If we can keep our species going for another millennium,
we may experience another renaissance.

The last dark age lasted 1000 years.

That is a lie. Citizens United ended that. As long as you give your billions to a super pac, you can remain anonymous and give as much as you want.

Which is how Putin supports trump.

And they only hold responsible who they want to fit these infractions?

The 'group' must identify itself. The funding is secret, and unlimited.
