Actually, I believe she has more money than Kucinich. Who cares, I've met the woman here at Columbus when Kucinich was giving a speech. She's a lovely woman and he's a lucky man.

That's right...TWO THIRDS of the population of this country think something needs to be done, and if the party of NO had listened and done what their constituents had demanded, then we wouldn't have the flawed bill we have.

Unfortunately, Republicans couldn't just let president Obama have a victory on this issue, or they wouldn't see Majority status for another decade or longer. Realizing this, it became necessary for the Party of NO to LIE to the people and spread fear to try and derail healthcare reform. This bill is the result of all the lies and fear spread by Republican Obstructionists.

Is this bill perfect? No.

Is it a starting point for more and better reform down the line? ABSOLUTELY.

Now why don't you just quit whining about how this will "DESTROY AMERICA" and work for better reform during the inevitable next round?

Damo is an ancarchist at heart. There is absolutely no version or compromise or combimation or permutation of health care reforms that would make him happy.

He's much happier with us having a 3rd world health care system in the richest nation on the planet so that he can lob grenades as the government he despises most in the world. Ours.

I disagree and frankly am suprised by the relative popularity of this bill considering how much has been spent promoting un-true propaganda against it.

I belvie the vast majority of people knew something needed to be done in 1994, but nuthing got done after the Republicnas sunk Hillary's Plan.

Republicans were in power for how many years with nuthing getting done on health care?

It's really just a precedence setter. This isn't true reform. It's only the beginning of reform.

What I have said in this thread:

1. That Jarod is acting like an ass, and if the bill doesn't pass will be eating crow.
2. That if it doesn't pass I think it is likely that something will be done considering that the 67% of the population thinks something should be done.
3. That people know something should be done, but do not believe that it should be this.

Not once did I say it would or would not pass.

I don't want it to pass, but I have not predicted that it will or will not pass.

If I came on here and started saying "Yaaay, they don't have the votes!" because of the stories with Ds saying they don't have the votes, then started talking trash and cheering on the next step towards actual reform rather than malformation then you could say I would be eating crow if it does pass...

But I haven't. Because I really don't know if it will or won't pass. I hope it doesn't so we can have better reformation.
 
HCR is at 70% on intrade right now. Those odds are actually even longer than they seem. No senator who had a 70% on intrade lost in the 2008 election, no state that was ranked 70% on intrade for either candidate went to the other.
