Drill Baby Drill

That's interesting cypress because I think you DO have a problem with it, in fact here you are in 2008 saying so:

The difference of course is that there is a different president in power - but thanks for proving your partisan hacknesss beyond a shadow of a doubt!
Now bownage to the ownage.

Wow King Condom, do I even know you? I'm flattered that you're researching my posts.

As for your link, this was the first thing I wrote on there that I came across.

I also don't think democrats are "against drilling" on principle. It's silly to boil down a complex energy issue as being either "for" drilling, or "against" drilling.

yeah, I'm against offshore drilling in california. I said that under Bush, and I said that on this thread. And I don't think drilling off the atlantic is the solution to any problems, but I've never been a nazi about atlantic drilling.

Yes I'd say you know me Comrade P-Ski, if you were more observant you'd see that my award in my sig would give you, oh I don't know, some sort of giant hint.

I am not talking about Cali dishonest fuckwad, you said you were ok with Obama's drilling which also includes the drilling off the coast of Florida right?
Yet in the thread from 2008 you clearly state that you ARE against drilling off the Florida coast.

Hence the ownage. Why don't you instead try sticking to something you are good at, like lyingly trying to prop up Bush's support:

wow, King Condom is Dano? I had no idea!

Still angry and obssessive as always I see!

the only thing I really give a crap about is drilling off California or in environmentally sensitive areas. If they drill off florida I don't give a crap.

Am I against Bush on principle, on everything he did? Yep. Sorry, man! I wanted Shrub drummed out of office, for good reason. Worst. President. Ever. But, you supported the Iraq War, voted for him twice, and spent seven years making excuses for him. That's fine, that was your perogative.

Now, I'm going to have to cut you lose bro. You are very creepy and obsessive. Have fun!

It's funny when you say bro and always talk like you are 25 years younger than the fat frumpy middle aged guy that your picture showed you as.

I don't support the Iraq war and what's more from that poll it seems you support him more than I did, unless of course you would like to come out and admit that you were a lying dishonest piece of shit?

You said you were against the Florida drilling in 2008, you say you are ok with it now, there is no escape from your lying, I could probably easily dig up more if I really were obsessive but I had to search no more than a couple minutes for the word 'offshore' with you posting and I found evidence of your hypocrisy with ease.

I understand you need to try and get in the last word to save face, but like the rest of your body and mind it really isn't anything worth saving.

Actually, the Democratic Congress allowed the law banning offshore drilling to expire way back in 2008.

And then we have the rest of the story...

Offshore Drilling Ban Lifted Last Year, But Salazar Says Administration May Not Open Any New Areas To Drilling Until 2012
Hastings: This is unacceptable and irresponsible energy policy

WASHINGTON, D.C., Sep 17, 2009 - House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Doc Hastings (WA-04) issued the following statement today regarding reports that the Obama Administration may not complete a new Outer Continental Shelf lease plan until 2012:

“Yesterday, during Secretary Salazar’s testimony before the House Natural Resources Committee, Republicans repeatedly asked him for specific details on his Department’s upcoming decision regarding the 2010-2015 Outer Continental Shelf lease plan. Time and time again, Secretary Salazar refused to provide any candid information about the Administration’s plans.

“But 24 hours later, Secretary Salazar told reporters that it’s possible the Administration may not complete a new plan until 2012.

Does anybody think that drilling doesn't upset the belly of these toe fu eating lefties?

Give them a break toppy. We all know that if we drilled in ANWR the random caribou passing by would be like 'WTF... who put THAT here? ' Then that caribou would round up his fellow caribou and start rioting and demanding justice for the inconvenience of potentially walking a couple feet around the pipeline supports.

We also know that if we drilled off shore (even as close as 5 miles) that beach dwellers would 'know' the pipes were there (despite not being able to see them) and it would just 'ruin' their day. Plus you could end up with a Dolphin riot similar to the caribou riots aforementioned.

I'm telling you man, if you guy's could nominate a moderate who's pro decrim and anti bullshit war I'd gladly come back to the fold.

Too many bat shit crazy people on the right for that to happen.

Political platform of da Super Freak...

1) Majority of international military bases overseas closed. Exceptions (for now)...

a) South Korea.... cause that crazy bastard to their north is a lunatic
b) Japan.... see South Korea
c) Iraq... because we started the war... we must see it through
d) Afghanistan... see Iraq

2) Flat tax with standard deduction replaces current tax code.... simple, fair, progressive... Done

3) Drill all economically viable oil and nat gas sites within the US and off its shores. Use royalties to help fund alt/clean energy R&D and begin shift to as much clean/alt energy as possible.

4) Nuclear power... begin building more plants

5) Infrastructure... um... this is the no brainer of job creation. But apparently the morons in DC are too blind to put much 'stimulus' into these endeavors. They would rather continue extending unemployment bene's.

6) Legalization of MJ... all non-violent MJ offenders in jail to be released... and hey... we have some infrastructure jobs available if interested.

7) Abolish governmental marriage licensing. Leave marriage to the religious institutions where it belongs. If we are going to continue providing bene's to couples.... then they go to ALL couples (non-related... sorry dixie)... gay or straight.

8) Massive educational reform... especially K-12, but also provide 'guidance' for state run higher education

9) Glass Steagall... back in place... prosecute those 'too valuable to lose' investment bankers who create all of these complex derivatives for no fucking reason and then ass fuck the country after being bailed out by the taxpayers for the mess they created. Then bitch slap those idiots in DC who think they are 'savvy businessmen'.

10) Hedge funds... regulate them like the rest of the investment world.

11) SEC... put uptick rule back in place and force disclosure of ALL short sale transactions... note... the disclosure can be done on a quarterly basis, but we need an accurate picture of who was shorting what and when.

12) New policy... If GDP growth is positive for a calendar year.... Congress and President lose Salaries for the year and are fined $100k each for every $1b they raise the national debt.

13) Term limits in place for Congress... 12 years max. We have seen too much corruption and ineptitude in both parties lifetime politicians. Time for some fresh blood.... because these bastards are just too fucking cozy with their respective PACs/special interest groups/corp donors.

Just some random thoughts...

I would support all except the last two. I see no reason for term limits, and by mandating a balanced budget, we can solve the problem without jumping down people's throats.

What kind of educational reforms do you have in mind?

1) Very true, wetsuits are indeed friggin expensive.

2) From what I have seen, most of the off shore rigs for CA would not even be visible from the beach given that they are miles off the coast. The same holds true for most off shore drilling. So who cares how much oil CA IS producing. What matters is how much COULD it produce. The ignorance of not drilling our own oil is truly amazing. WE control the environmental regs for oil drilling for oil drilled in what country? Oh yeah, that would be the USA.

Plus we have the jobs benefit toppy mentioned, plus the added economic benefit of keeping the money here in the US rather than giving it to a foreign government. Plus increase in supply will help to alleviate worldwide increase in demand. Plus, we would have the ability to use the royalties to fund more alt/clean energy research.

the oil rigs off santa barbara are fucking disgusting

#12 is necessary because if you don't have it, they simply break the rule. We have had balanced budget mandates before and the idiots in DC simply keep raising the debt. If there is no penalty for violating a rule... then there is no incentive for them to abide by it.

#13 term limits... because apparently the populace on the whole thinks 'their Rep & Senators' are not a part of the problem and we keep sending the same fucking people over and over again and expecting different results. Fuck it.... term limits is my policy position.

As for educational reforms... pretty much a complete overhaul in terms of how we teach, what we teach and when.

Some random thoughts:

1) teach minimum of English and Spanish in K-2... both fluency and literacy required to pass. The younger we begin teaching languages, the easier it is to pick up.

2) Mandatory physical education for one hour per day for each grade K-12. Time to get in shape

3) No more teaching to the lowest common denominator. Reinstitute remedial and advanced classes.

4) Complete overhaul to the 'administrative' side. WAY TOO MUCH WASTE in this area. That money should be spent on better schools/equipment for the kids.

5) No tenure. You want to teach? Great... we appreciate that... but you will increase the aptitude of your students in their respective studies or we will find someone else who can.

6) Pay reform... I think this really varies by location, but from what I have 'heard' (thus take with grain of salt)... We need to pay teachers based on the success of their classrooms (bonuses for those highly ranked teachers who choose to teach in low income areas). No more pay based on seniority.
But also no more paying teachers like they are minimum wage earners. We want higher quality teachers with great results... then pay them for it. There is enough waste on the admin side that we should be able to reduce admin costs and transfer the savings over to teachers salaries (as well as better buildings/equipment).
