The COVID vaccine saved thousands of American lives and millions of lives around the world. The same for other vaccines. Like any human endeavor, nothing is perfect. If a surgeon says an operation has a 90% chance of success, the means 10% of the operations will fail. Often resulting in the death of the patient. The same for flu and other vaccines. They work for most people but not everyone. Like the flu vaccine, the COVID vaccine doesn't always prevent contracting the disease.

I've had COVID 3 times. The first time in March of 2020 when Trump was still lying about it. Both my wife and I were sick for three days and thought we only had the flu. Not bad enough to go to the hospital but bad enough to not leave the house for several days. The last time my wife contracted the disease she was pretty bad, but I have no doubt that had she not been vaccinated, she'd have been hospitalized at best and dead at worst.

I am not anti-vaccine, to start with. However, I'm also not in favor of tyranny, so I certainly don't think anyone should have been forced to take the jab just because the totalitarian left says it's mandatory. You're right that vaccines aren't 100% effective, and it's becoming clear that many have died from them, but let's assume they were at least somewhat effective. In that scenario, a case could be made for those in high-risk categories, due to severe medical conditions or old age, to take the gamble. But for the young, it was pure left-wing lunacy to push them to take the chance, given the extremely low risk they faced of anything worse than the common flu. For that demographic, those who died from the vaccine were unfortunately completely unnecessary. Does that make sense?
