Greenland pop. 57,000 x $1M each = $57 billion - We better make them a deal before China does

Aryan nation Denmark gives Greenland about $600 million per year and keeps them in poverty.
 
Here is an idea: trump offers Greenland/Denmark $57 billion, they turn it down, everyone has a good laugh, and we move on in life.

Just because you want them to accept a tiny offer does not mean they will accept a tiny offer. As long as there is no more talk of war, we can treat this as the sad ranting of a senile old man, and move on.

Why on Earth would they accept one tenth of what it is worth? They are smart enough to realize that a million dollars is not enough.

16.1% of the Greenlanders make an income below the poverty line. If Alaska's poverty line was correctly calculated, it would be a bit higher than Greenland. As it is, it is a bit lower than Greenland.

That does not mean that Greenlanders live below the poverty line. Their strong welfare state tops up their living standard, so practically no one lives below the poverty line.
 
Why is a preferred-trading-partner treaty not enough?


What need is there to take "Ownership" of Greenland, rather than simply help Greenland be its own sovereign nation?


I would actually welcome Greenland as the 51st state, but I don't think that will ever happen.


We have been protecting Greenland from military incursion since WWII, but I don't any change in their sovereignty in the near future.

There are many options. I'm just suggesting one. One that could give them a million reasons to vote for independence this April.
