Abreast of the situations
You know I am really feeling pretty bitter today dropping tens of thousands into the mail to the federal treasury department for my 2009 tax.

The main thing is the fact that half of us households pay zero federal taxes while I am scrounging up money to send in. Every single person in this country should have to pay something. "Ask not what this country can do for you but what you can do for your country"?!?! what a fucking joke. People in this country talk out of one side of there mouths about the right thing to do free healthcare, increased military, blah blah blah.. Then pay no taxes? 50 fucking percent.... What a corrupt society we live in.

Seriously.. Who here thinks its right that 50% of households pay zero federal tax? Its a fucking joke. From this day on I will only vote for whom ever is going to cost me less money until they correct this gross unfairness.

well when your paying in total taxes what amounts to a year of college education and prob a new car while half the country doesn't even have to pull there wallet out it tends to strike a deep seeded disgust in the people you look around at sucking from us like blood sucking leaches talking about how they need more free stuff.

Word, but I blame the politicians for spending too much not the poor people being held down by the gov corp machine. I ranted for years about too much in taxes, now I've resigned myself to hoping it goes into American investment vs Middle East invasions and helicopters dropping money to win over the locals.:clink:
 
I still think everyone should have to pay in something. under no circumstances should a household making 50K pay nothing. Also whats up with people actually getting money back when they paid nothing in? Some weird tax change that allows for people to get money for nothing.

Chap, chill roll a blunt. It's now legal in your enlightened state.
All these poor people are paying 7% in FICA and state and sales taxes.
The rich like you and I are getting richer, do not abandon your plan when it's tough. Let the far right wing tools stop buying into America's greatness. When it's raining don't grab a thimble of money to invest grab a bucket.

just playing devils advocate here, but what proof/facts do you have to show that half of american households are exempt from federal taxes?
 
It's also on cnbc's front page today, I read the article. But again they pay 7% fica and state taxes.
 
You wouldn't really get much out of the bottom 50%. Making literally everyone pay income taxes would mean that oftentimes you'd be spending more money on taxing them than you're getting back.
 
Reagan and Bush felt it necessary to balance tax cuts on the rich with those on the poor. That's why so few pay taxes now (along with the recession tax cuts, which expanded the amount not paying taxes from 40% to 50%).

The deficit is going to be made up for by the middle class...
 
I think everyone should have to contribute if they make more then 20K or so. instances of people making up to 50K but not paying a dime is rediculous. Also whats up with people getting money back when they owe nothing in essence a governement handout.
 
Not me, I'm cool with going after people $250,000 year. Shit they stop paying the 7% at about $105,000.

You are SO ABSOLUTELY RIGHT one would think it wouldn't even have to be said....
And I'll go a step further, EVERYONE, regardless of income should pay something in Fed. Inc. Tax....even if only a small token amount....

Everyone should feel they have a stake in the government and have a hand in supporting the country they live in....

I think what top is talking about is SSI tax which ends at around 100K. Some ideas to solve the SSI problem is to create a donut where u pay up to 100k then nothing from 100k-200K or so then it kicks in again. I'm not totally against this but in exchange for an overhaul of this magnitude #1 SSI needs to be separated from the general funds, #2 those making money during SSI years should still get there benefit, #3 no more adjustments in terms of retirement age or payout. #4 It would have an END of life provision so that once the boomers die and the SSI fund is separated and funded the tax goes down... NO REDIRECTING MONEY

SS tax is a flat tax....there should be NO CUTOFF amount....and the percent could then be lowered to a more reasonable level....

Same with the income tax....should start at an income of $1.00 and have no cap and no loopholes, no deductions; that are only used for social engineering anyway.

That liberal wet dream needs to be put of OUR misery.
