Congress requires the government to spend money, and then does not authorize the collection of that money to be spent. It becomes a physical impossibility.
 
Republicans love deficits too; after disbursing billions in corporate bailouts and corporate welfare they then like to claim it's Social Security and Medicare that are the problem.

What's that got to do with the fact that Democrats have been in charge of the Executive branch while this debt was compounded?

This debt has been building with no regard for future generations since Reagan...where the fuck have you been?....under a rock?

It has to do with neither Party caring about deficits as long as they're lining the pockets of their donors, so the sniveling doesn't serve any purpose other than deflection. It's not like Republicans are going to change anything, just engage in more class warfare for four years and then snivel about losing again to a bunch of commies, deviants, and assorted terrorist fronts.

Yes. Reagan's solution was of course to shift the tax burdens down onto the lower income brackets and give big tax breaks to swindlers and bankers. Meanwhile he ran guns to Iranian terrorists and dope into the U.S.

Yes, it is right. Look at the pork shoveled into the pockets of lame duck Republicans leaving office because they don't like Trump's agenda and voted for Biden's giant pork bill.
