“Second Amendment Summer:' DeSantis wants tax holiday for firearms, ammunition, accessories”

“Proposed in DeSantis' state budget for the new year, under the new tax holiday consumers in Florida would not pay state sales tax on any ammunition, firearms, and related accessories. Antique firearms are excluded.”

“Florida does not require a permit or license to buy a gun and does not require registration. There is no limit on the number of firearms you can own or buy in a single transaction. Background checks are required and there is a three-day waiting period“

“In the first four months of 2024, nearly half a million firearms were sold in Florida, the second-highest total behind Texas. The state saw 32 mass shootings last year, according to data from the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive, the third-highest in the country and an increase from 30 reported in 2023.”

The comedy is the one weapon category you would think might deserve a break, antique guns, isn’t covered under the proposal. Now all the strawman agents for the Iron Pipeline can get a tax break

He better rethink this. The Venezualians, 300,000 of them are pissed.

I do, but not your warped interpretation of it
Opinions are like...well, you know.

OTOH, the opinions of SCOTUS carry the weight of law. Are the laws of the United States not in compliance with SCOTUS and the Constitution? I believe they are. This includes Florida. If they want to give up tax revenue for guns and ammo this summer, that's their choice.

IMO, it's mostly hype. It's not like people who never owned guns will start snapping them up for an 8% discount or that a bunch of gun owners will spend $10,000 on more guns to save $800.

Never said it was illegal, unlimited access to porn is generally not illegal, that doesn’t mean it is correct

And keep in mind this Court has told us corporations are people, political contributions can’t be limited, class action suits are limited, redefined racial discrimination, basically said Trump has immunity, amongst other things, so I wouldn’t use them to measure common sense

my 'warped' interpretation? LOL pray tell what you think that is
As I just told your comrade, it is is the operative clause only made possible by the prefatory clause, which the Roberts Court conveniently ignored, you know there is a reason the Founders added a coma
