Inflation fears rise to highest since Nov. 2023 as consumer sentiment hits 7-month low

A rising number of Americans are anxious about the state of the US economy — and it's all about inflation.

The latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey released Friday showed headline sentiment declined to its lowest level in seven months as pessimism over the inflation outlook drove down February's preliminary read and one-year inflation expectations jumped to 4.3% from 3.3% last month.

This was the highest reading for inflation expectations since November 2023 and marked two consecutive months of "unusually large" increases, according to the release.

Naturally only economics-illiterate people who were gullible and likely to panic for no reason were asked, and thus were not asked for any rational economics basis for their apprehension, beyond any leftist TDS-driven fear-mongering of course.

Typically, anyone 'anxious' about the economy who voted for trump, doesn't understand the economy. Or at least, doesn't understand how to use their Google button.

When corporate profits, share buybacks, and dividends are at record levels it isn't very hard to do the math. If anyone believed that trump had the power, or initiative to rein in corporations, then I guess they will be anxious still.

Harris campaigned on addressing corporate greed with respect to inflation.

Clearly, her biggest setback was having a vagina.

Is it " Inflation" when you increase prices of almost everything we buy on PURPOSE ?
People on the right are cheering for Trump to put his tariffs on but for some reason don't understand it is the CONSUMER who is the one that ends up paying them.
And when they go to the store and have to start paying them they will cry like babies.
Tariffs can be good but when you are putting tariffs on of 20/25/30/40% or more they do a lot more harm then good.
Drive up the price of just about everything you buy on PURPOSE then call it inflation is BS.
I guess they are so stupid they don't know this , they got what they wanted so now we will have to sit back and listen to them cry.

Well the MAGAS cried about Bidenflation inflation under Biden a lot of it caused by the COVID,
inflation that wasn't caused on PURPOSE.
So I guess was can call this inflation that is caused on PURPOSE Trumpflation.
Again when and IF Trump does put his tariffs on and prices skyrocket the MAGA will cry like babies.

I guess if you lie the most of any President we have ever had, or want to cause prices of everything we buy up 30,40 % or more, Or want to destroy the USA as we have known it all our lives then he is the best President we have ever had.

border enforcement and tariffs IS reining in corporations.

No one is crying... and things are not going up twenty or thirty per cent... I shop just about every day... No problems...with supply or prices.... I am a smart shopper... and I do get eggs from the neighbor's chickens and ducks...so there's that...;)
