Trump on track to deport HALF the number deported under Biden

That's a good point. He chickened out on tariffs, now he's not even achieving the deportation numbers Biden had.
I think he's going for the "I fulfilled my campaign promises" gambit even if all are failures.

When he FUBAR's the US economy over the next few months, I suspect the Republicans will take a major shellacking in the midterms.

He didn't "chicken out" he got the desired initial response, and paused the tariffs on Mexico and Canada. The tariffs on China are in effect. Why do you have to be dishonest?

It's all about optics for Trump. He claimed Canada made significant concessions to drop the tarrif threat, but the fact is Trudeau punked Trump and only committed to doing what Canada was already doing and to keep talking.

Trump Migrant Deportation Numbers Compared to Obama, Biden

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Tuesday that in the first two weeks of President Donald Trump's second term, nearly 5,700 illegal immigrants had been deported.

If the new administration continues at that clip, one expert told Newsweek, then it would be on track to deport half the number of migrants removed during former President Joe Biden's last full fiscal year in 2024.

"two weeks"

"full fiscal year in 2024"

Same for Mexico. Both Canada and Mexico fed Trump's ego but only agreed to what they were already doing.

The blowback is upon American consumers and stock investors.

"The Trump bump in consumer confidence is already over," Wolfe and Pinsker report. "Tariff threats, stock market swings and rapidly reversing executive orders are causing Americans across the political spectrum to feel considerably more pessimistic about the economy than they did before President Trump took office. Consumer sentiment fell about 5 percent in the University of Michigan's preliminary February survey of consumers to its lowest reading since July 2024. "

The WSJ reporters continue, "Expectations of inflation in the year ahead jumped from 3.3 percent in January to 4.3 percent, the second month in a row of large increases and highest reading since November 2023…. Morning Consult's recent index of consumer confidence, too, fell between January 25 and February 3, driven primarily by concern over the country's economic future."

Wolfe and Pinsker cite 58-year-old Paul Bisson as an example of someone who voted for Trump in 2024 but now has reservations about his economic policies, including tariffs.

Bisson told WSJ, "I don't like the turbulence. I don't like the chaos in the market…. That will make the economy worse, and that's not what we signed up for. We've already cut back. There's no more cutting back to do."

FOX told you that Canada promised to spend $1.3 on border security, but what FOX neglected to tell you is that Canada's Parliament already passed the $1.3 billion legislation last year - before Trump was in office. Canada did not make any notable concessions to Trump other than to keep doing what they were already doing.

Trudeau rolled Trump, and they're probably still laughing about it in Ottawa.

Trump chickened out because he started to panic that his trade war would crash the market and stoke inflation.

He got played, dumbass. Name a single thing the Mexicans and Canadians are doing differently after Trump dropped the tariff threat?

Do you have any stock investments or do you depend upon the largesse the DOGE to protect you in retirement? No need to reply if it's the latter.

Oy vey with the lame "Fox" nonsense. How many times do I have to tell you, I don't watch Fox News? Got it? What MSLSD neglected to tell you is, Canada may have passed some sort of legislation, but they had not implemented it, nor did they have any plans to. If you have information to the contrary, I'd love to see it. But of course, you don't. There were a number of other concessions, that I'm pretty sure you are aware of, but I won't bother listing them again, since you seem content to snort copium in order to get by. It's going to be a long 4 to 12 years, at least, for you poor libs.

You can continue to believe that if you wish, libs seem to love to be lied to. Meanwhile, Trump will continue to steamroll the Democrat Party for the foreseeable future. Enjoy.

Wrong. There were a number of concessions, and additions. But you already knew that.
