His downhill slide, along with several other MAGAts on JPP, remind me of the John Bradford quote often cited as "There, but for the grace of God, go I."

I watched my dad die of Alzheimer's over a period of almost three years. While attending to him on a regular basis, I also witnessed the other residents his retirement facility and often ate lunch and/or dinner with several of them. I saw many people in various stages of mental deterioration. Some were pretty sharp, most were not. Some were pretty bad. Not a way I'd want to end up.

It was that experience which keeps me at JPP due to the demographics here. Lots of forums for political debate, but JPP is unique in a few different ways with one of them being the very high percentage of over-60 males.

Understood. I was just curious if you picked up any trends in replies to his posts. Their general nature. Angry? Calm? Sarcastic?

The entire purpose of trolling is to elicit an emotional response. Trolls are often immature, weak in character and have a strong need for affirmation.

Notice how much joy all the JPP MAGAts have with trolling anyone who isn't a fellow MAGAt. What kind of person takes joy in the pain of others? What conditions would create such a person? How can they be recognized IRL?

My theory is that he's suffering from cognitive degeneration due to whatever ailment is plaguing him.

His posts have certainly moved from quality, e.g. funny, to simplistic quantity.

I suppose causing emotional responses -- almost always negative ones -- gives them some sort of pleasure. It's as though the only way they know they're alive is when someone gets annoyed or upset by their prodding. Toxic is a perfect example of this. We've all noticed how she will glom onto a particular person and follow them around the forum, poking and jabbing and trying to get increasingly angry responses. Then she chortles about how "upset" and "angry" they are and directs that they should go eat breakfast and calm down. Most of us on the left or the middle have experienced this behavior from her personally. NHB is the most recent target, along with Jarod. Goat is another pathetic, needy loser who does the same thing, and so is Tinymouse and Stone to a somewhat lesser degree.

Like so many here -- Stone, Toxic, H10, goat, et al -- he's more of an attention whore than someone who's genuinely interested in discussion.
