First US death reported in a decade as outbreak spreads in region where 14% of children are exempt from vaccination

The unfolding crisis over the spread of measles in the US among communities where skepticism towards vaccines is running high has taken a turn for the worse after a person who was hospitalized with the disease died in west Texas, the first fatality in the outbreak that began late last month.

A Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center spokesperson, Melissa Whitfield, confirmed the death on Wednesday. It is the first death from measles in the US since 2015.

The school-aged child who died was not vaccinated, the Texas department of state health services said, and was hospitalized in Lubbock last week after testing positive for measles, per the Texas department of state health services.

What 'outbreak'???
Quoting leftist propaganda sites won't work.

Jew, no. Maybe it was COVID 19.
First measles death in America in over a decade. I know, if Trump said it was not measles or he did not die, you would post that. We had the disease beaten. The group with measles is homeschooled and anti-vaxxers. They were told what risks they were taking by skipping the vaccine.

The outbreak happened in a Mennonite community where the vaccination rate is only 80%

Vaccination in the Mennonite church is optional but their schools are small and vaccination is optional. Texas public schools require MMR vaccination.

Not all of them are anti vaxxers. 80% are vaccinated.

No, they don't. Anyone can fill out an exemption affidavit, and not get an MMR vaccination. Sadly, many Texas parents do just that. Soon all of America will be like that.

Meanwhile the immigrants entering America are almost all vaccinated. Funny how that works.

If something is required, that means that you cannot just get exempt from it by signing a piece of paper.
