That appears to be the curse of success and the #1 reason why I think we hurt ourselves as a nation by eliminating instead of modifying the draft. Too many Americans have become spoiled by the success of those who came before them. They need to get out into the world in order to see how good they have it at home.

I don't need a lecture on true asylum seekers. I admire and welcome them. I'm talking about illegal aliens, and I think you know that. More games.

I really do not know why you disagree with these facts. It is important to keep HIV out of our blood supply. Before they tested, people were getting HIV from blood transfusions. Now HIV is almost never transmitted by blood transfusions, and is being transmitted in fewer and fewer numbers every year by all means.

Testing has been very important in the slow march towards controlling and eradicating HIV.

That is different than what you typed. You said YOU tested for HIV, that is different than the Red Cross doing it. You should be more precise in how you use the language

They get coddled even in the military. They keep talking about rights, but do not believe they have any responsibilities.

"I test for HIV" means I get tested for HIV. I voluntarily get the test for HIV. It is not important for me, but I get tested for HIV because everyone who gives blood does.

If we can get 95% of the people with HIV tested, 95% of the people testing positive taking antivirals, and 95% of the people taking antivirals having no viral load, we can wipe out HIV. It will still infect new people, but the number of new infections will drop until one day HIV is history. It is not a great solution, in that it might take well over a hundred years, but it might just be the best solution.

Rather than agreeing to a solution, we have the alt right whining about grammar they have trouble understanding, and saying they hate gay people.

There is a much simpler way to wipe out HIV and it wouldn't take a hundred years and wouldn't involve endless testing.

Have people stop engaging in the risky behaviors that lead to getting HIV. After 40 years we know what they are. IV drug usage and male on male sex. The facts are the facts.

I thought it was cute that you threw in the comment about hating gay people when that never came into the conversation. Also, it is not my fault that you are not precise in your use of the english language.

Doubtful. I retired from the military almost 30 years ago but doubt the military has changed so much in the interim.

OTOH, if you are judging the military by the ex-military members of this forum, especially the MAGAts, then I can see why you think that way. By my count, there are only 3 forum members who served a full military career. The rest served less than 20 years and often less than 5. Most, like myself, back in the last century.

Is this more of that deductive reasoning you are so proud of? Where did I say arrest people? The two biggest risk factors for getting HIV is IV drug use and male on male anal sex. Those are facts. Don’t want HIV don’t engage in those acts.

Just like the biggest risk factor for becoming an alcoholic is drinking alcohol. Don’t want to be an alcoholic then don’t drink alcohol. Simple really.

You forget heterosexual sex too. Stopping that would get rid of all HIV transmission, because it would get rid of all humans.

On a real level, using condoms for most sex, and using clean needles would be a faster road to getting rid of HIV. Nothing is perfect, but that is near perfect. Unfortunately, even when one group does that, other groups refuse. There is a reason that HIV transmission is dropping among gays quicker, because they are using the condoms.

But pushing all this sex underground will do the opposite. Even trump could not figure out that it was important to use a condom.

I was talking to a drill sergeant a few months ago, and he told me that I would be shocked by how the alt right recruits shout at drill sergeants about their rights... But that is just hearsay from a not extremely reliable source.

I do know they have unusually high numbers of white men getting ELS discharges.

Can you imagine past generations saying they did not want a vaccine? You just did what the military doctor told you.

While the military struggles to find recruits, it's interesting that Alt-Right recruits are happily signing up. Screams and all.

This is a reason why getting rid of the draft was a bad idea in the long term.
