Some conservatives not welcome at Tea Party protests

i edited my post:

i don't believe the audio is available online anymore as the show is canceled, i've looked, and i'm not lying....i think you know she did the skit, you're just being a partisan twit

The audio was on Front Page and not there now?

The fact of the matter is that if you google the story line there are a number of hits, without the audio, which includes Rhodes apologizing for her so called "humor" claiming she was just doing what her writers had given her...which is just an excuse.

If you really want to listen to it find some air america archives of the Randi Rhodes show. She did a skit about Bush dying and then made a comment about his brother and dad needing to take him out fishing or something and shooting him.

I have no idea how to go into their archives to find those clips nor does my lazy ass really care to try. It's there though if you are interested.
Here's crooksandliars.com trying to poo-poo it...

http://crooksandliars.com/2005/04/27/1825

Drudge reported that she drew the ire of the Secret Service due to her "humorous" skit...

Of course, the link to her apology is as non-existent as past shows. The interwebs seems to "lose" such things regularly.

Here is WND reporting on her apology...

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=44014

Of course, she felt the need to apologize profusely, considering her show "answered" Bush policy with "gunshots"...

On other shows she "joked" about the Bush family taking him out, letting him say "Hail Marys" and "pow"

The link to the recording in this story works too....

Once again Southy, this is a disucussion based on facts and logic...NOT your personal opinion, suppostition and conjecture. If you can't LOGICALLY or FACTUALLYor HONESTLY prove your assertions, then don't waste time and space with your lame dodges, denials and distortions.

LOL Your the one making the "racist" accusation, so its your responsibility to logically, factually and honestly prove your assertions. You just gave your best shot using the transcript of the video and proved nothing.

Since you failed at that I then ax'd you for a published list of terms that we whiteys can use or cannot use and not be considered racist of the black president, and you failed to provide that. Then I went above and beyond and did the Affirmative Action thing and ax'd you if we are racist if we are more critical of the black president than liberals were of Bush; is that your position? and you failed to answer that as well.

Translation: Southy tries to BS his way pass the FACT that I caught him trying to lie about the Williams/Martin exchange. He can't explain to us what "failed" .... and he can't explain away the physical evidence of the video I presented. Then he blatantly LIES about what transpired in the chronology of the posts that got us to this point. I swear folks, I just don't know who this idiot thinks he's fooling....either that or he's truly delusional.

No translation required Libbie. What I said makes perfect sense to all but the most unreasonable lib-tard.

If you ever get the stones to answer my question then get back to me.

And by your statement, you should have no problem producing some various separate examples of the effigy burning over the 8 years (domestic only, please)...then compare the number to all the racist paranoia and threating guff that has appeared at various teabagger events and such in just one year since Obama's inaugeration.

As for the FBI and Secret Service, that news is old hat...you must have missed it. Here are a just two examples:

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/wa..._more_threats/

And I said that neocon pundits encouraged the bad behavior....I didn't say they called for the President's murder. You need to either pat attention to what you read or stop revising what others write to suit your viewpoint. Take note of the following:

midnight on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

The caption of the image: The picture on my phone was taken on Election Night- someone was burning Bush in effigy on Castro Street. Awesome.

I'll get to more later... I don't have time to sort through all the pictures to select just the right ones at this moment.

:palm:I said over an 8 year period.....and I was referring to coverage by the legitmate news services. Forgive me if I don't take your phone pics of one local incident as total validation of your position. And like I said, compare that to the numerous examples of racist, threatening bilge at the various tea party gatherings in just one year. Unless you can corroborate your phone pics as part of or/with a valid news service coverage it's not a very good example.

Presidents attract no end of kooks. I should just assume every "progressive" is a violent death-monger who promotes violence like Randi Rhodes, according to you that's the way it works. Yeah, superfantastic.

What the hell are you babbling about?? I said/insinuated/alluded to no such thing! Evidently, your preconceived notions distort your ability to comprehend a simple sentence on this subject.

The reality is, it would definitely be difficult to get to the level of caustic hatred that was spewed during protests against Bush domestically. Your opinion that is seemingly based on your personal experience......but as I said, what's been documented in JUST ONE YEAR from the neocon punditry, birthers, oathers, teabaggers ACROSS THE USA tells another story. Until we reach that level your hypocrisy knows no bounds. Really? Then the forementioned collection of organized yahoos are just isn't happening? Man, you've have GOT to get the crack out of the pipe! Cheering on the closing of the park in front of the WH to squelch protests, nodding away at the extension Oh, you mean preventing a bunch of yahoos who TELL YOU that they're coming with a chip on their shoulder and possibly a gun on their hip to wail bloody murder? You mean that similar actions NEVER happened under the Shrub? Maybe you can explain the extra-ordinary actions that were taken in New York during the GOP Convention....just as one example. and strengthening of warrantless wiretapping, saying "Yeeehaaah" and "Oh, yeah!" to Biden suggesting exactly the same thing as Cheney when leaders of Al Qaeda are killed in Iraq...

:palm: Evidently, you share the same neocon blinders as some of the other posters here...because I and others have DOCUMENTED that various "liberal" and "progressive" groups, reporters, columnists and punditry have registered protests to Obama's continuing of Shrub policies. See, what's televised on the MSM is not always the status quo, don't cha know.

Then with a smirk you post that it is some how more acerbic when it comes from people you disagree with rather than those who you cheer.

Amazing how you lie as if butter wouldn't melt in your mouth. You're just pissed because I proved you wrong on several points AND documented it. And like most neocon blowhards, you just pretend that bits and parts of previous exchanges don't exist. Well, at least you haven't started deleting posts to sooth your ego...that's something.

It's gross hypocrisy at a level that reaches epic proportions. It's cool. I hope you focus on this, because it means you are still not getting it.

:palm: Pity the chronology of the posts don't back up your BS...but do continue to pat yourself of the back for this delusional condescending dreck of yours.

I've started pringing the bumperstickers already... That's nice....all local in from election night? Did those stickers get funding from a politicians PAC to form rallies and groups that disrupted town hall meetings across the country? Did it go all year long....8 years?
It's the Spending, Stupid!

Yes, you are stupid if you think you can detract from the original points of contention that you were proved wrong on. That's the problem with neocon debating tactics...they just love to try and alter the discussion to treat their personal supposition and conjecture as fact and logic. Get it together, Damo.

:palm: Your act is getting old, Southy.....every blessed time I prove you wrong on a point or you can't logically or factually prove me wrong....you lie about what the chronology of the exchanges contain, then you insert a "question" that NEVER acknowledges the information I've previously sourced (IF you honestly discuss the contents of those sources at all). Then you pretend your question is suddenly the main point of discussion that will justify your original assertions/contentions. The chronology of the posts ALWAYS catches your lies, dodges and BS, Southy. Always. Your denial and ad nauseum repetition non-withstanding. Grow up.

As usual Libbie, you get pwned so claim victory then accuse me of exactly what you do. You're right about one thing though- it is getting rather old.

Never once listened to AirAmerica, so no, I've never heard the "skit".

damo and ice dancer both gave links....what say you now

Rhodes blew it...she had the high ground and then had to go and lower herself to the level of the other kooks and nutjobs.

Does it compare with just one of the threats made against our current President:

"Two days before Obama’s appearance at San Francisco fund-raisers, a 59-year-old Northern California man was indicted on charges of sending a racist, profanity-filled e-mail threatening to kill Obama and his family. The rambling e-mail included specific references to Michelle Obama and the phrase, “do it to his children and family first in front of him,’’ according to the indictment."

The fact of the matter is you said that "no 'progressive' talk show host ever said these things", to answer that I posted links to multiple times. And believe me there were far more than that, the woman was atrocious.

My point is, it would be nearly impossible to ever reach a point where people were "worse" than those who were against Bush. We haven't even come halfway to that point. I have yet to see people burning Obama in effigy, floats with him being beheaded, etc. (photos of which have been posted on this very site more than once, sometimes in threads you even participated in.)

No, I am unworried, if this low bar is the one you will set for anti-Obama protesters, because it would take far more than has been shown to ever get "lower" than those who attacked Bush so regularly for so many years.

Personally, I think that policy is free game regardless, and threats are horrific, however the bar you set is they'd have to be "worse"... It's nearly impossible to get "worse".

The left not only had "talk radio hosts" talking about it, movies depicting his assassination (Bush's) were played in the theaters. It's fascinating what you will decide to "remember" so that the world will fit neatly into some farcatic box you created that are the "good guys"...

Your good guys weren't so "good" during Bush's terms. Thankfully the R Party just doesn't have it in them to get as low as y'all did...

;) <- yes, this is the winkie, for those on the left who can't understand this is a sign that my last sentence was sarcasm. People exist that are awful in both parties, just ignoring it partisanly seems to be the only thing that is consistent.

Did I really say "no progressive talk show host has ever said these things"...or did I instead say I was unwilling to simply take Yurt at his word?

Fine, so your VIEWPOINT is that there is almost nothing the Anti-Obama folks can do to "balance out" the hatred scales...but that is just YOUR VIEWPOINT...your opinion...NOTHING MORE.

For every example you can post, someone can counter it with some RightWing hatred just as idiotic, so how about you drop the whole "We could never be as you guys" garbage.

btw...try as I might, no matter what combo I put into google, I can't find any video of bush being beheaded...help a brotha out!

And it isn't a video, it is a still of a float at a "protest", they had him and his cabinet being "executed" in myriad ways. Anyway, here are a few pictures for your enjoyment of the imaginary "good guys" that you've forgotten about....

I'll start with that wonderful float... notice the head in the basket... Good stuff, eh?

i see...so you're trying to compare a national talk show host's comments with some whack job and creating some kind of moral equivalency or high ground from randi rhodes....

why you would even bother to try and compare them is beyond me....both are wrong....i can't truly know the intent of either party

Did I really say "no progressive talk show host has ever said these things"...or did I instead say I was unwilling to simply take Yurt at his word?

Ahem:

If you could provide any proof of any liberal or progressive radio pundits that encouraged such behavior during the Shrub's 8 years, or any proof of any Democrat politician encouraging or placating such, you might have a point.

But you and I know that there was no such thing.
And yes, you did say that there was "no such thing" when this all started, Zappa.

Now that I have provided proof, including audio, pictures of burning effigies (and if you want more I can provide video for you too) direct threats... It was a near constant barrage for a very long time... Now that all that has happened... Will you admit you were just talking out the wrong hole, or will you try to spin out of it?

You are the one that set that low, oh so very low..., bar that they'd have to be "worse" than the stuff used against Bush...

It is my humble opinion that it would be nearly impossible to get lower than that.

And when all is said and done, the "skit" (though some may say in bad taste) was Rhodes MOCKING the Shrub & company, MOCKING the whole gun nut culture.....and NOT being seriously under spec by the FBI as a possible threat or inciting to riot/violence. You can thank the neocon punditry for all the hand wringing and faux hysteria/accusations of investigations.

Like I said before, when you have a parallel of Rhodes stoking the paranoid and veiled threatening rhetoric to her audience like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levine, Crowley, Drudge, etc., of extremist teagaggers, militias, oathers, birthers and others, then you may have a point.

Seems several of your caps were from the anti-Invasion of Iraq protests, some from the 2004 election (second steal for the Shrub). Obviously, the picket declaring he's an assasin asking to be shot may have been from the GOP Nat'l Conference in NYC....a goof on the police regulated "protest zones" established.

Now, all you have to do is established that these INDIVIDUAL acts were REPEATED at various PROTESTS, TOWN HALL MEETINGS AND RALLYS THROUGHOUT THE USA under the FUNDING BY A GOP POLITICO'S PA GROUP.....you know, like the Tea Party's. That's what I originally asked you, remember?
