Democratic senator says democracy ‘at risk’ in rebuttal to Trump address

Right, but if they aren't "vote blue no matter who" libtards, then they are also well aware that prices have been high for pretty much the entirety of "Biden's" term and that it's unreasonable to expect the issue to be fixed at the snap of a finger by the new administration.

The Democrats' problem here is that they are now suddenly putting on an act, pretending that they just recently discovered that prices are all of a sudden very high. The general populace isn't that stupid, are sick of such pretending bullshit, and are well aware that prices have already been high for YEARS before Trump got into office a 2nd time. They know that it isn't something that just recently happened in the last 30 days or so...

Give it about six months or so. If prices are still high by the end of this year, then Democrats will have a solid attack vector to use against Trump (and Republicans) for the 2026 midterms. However, at the current moment, the only thing that Democrats hammering away at high prices accomplishes is reminding people precisely why they voted for Trump in the first place (because prices were so damn high under Biden).

Democrats should've been patient regarding this potential attack vector instead of shooting their wad right away and then opening themselves up for embarrassment if prices do come down some by the end of this year (heading into the 2026 midterms).

I really shouldn't be giving Democrats strategic advice like this, but I know that they won't take me seriously because they believe that I'm a "far-right nutter".

Except that it made sense when the right did it. The left just wants revenge because they lost. Grocery prices started increasing towards the beginning of "Biden's" term, then increased a lot more after the Inflation Production Act was passed and signed into law, and kept increasing throughout "Biden's" term. It's obvious why Trump won. Prices weren't nearly as high during Trump's term, and people want some relief from "Biden's" high prices.

Now, Trump is implementing his agenda and it will take some time for it to spread throughout the whole goods production process. Give it at least 6 months, if not until the end of 2025. If grocery prices are still high by then, THEN hammer away at Trump re: high grocery prices leading into the 2026 midterms. Until then, Democrats are shooting their wad way too early before Trump's agenda even has a chance to be implemented.

That's just plain stupid. Nobody reasonably expects the problems of the prior administration to be completely fixed after 30 days.

Four years makes sense. That's PLENTY of time. 30 days is nothing.

You are missing the point, the history, even though I’d say you are wrong, doesn’t count, when people go to the grocery store they aren’t intellectualizing why or who caused the prices to rise, they just want them down, as soon as possible. And keep in mind, endlessly, on the campaign Trump promised on Day 1 he was going to bring down groceries, if anything, that is something more likely shoppers remember

“The left just wants revenge,” really, have you been sleeping watching who is filling the cabinet

Realistically, thirty days is too short a time, but that’s politics, besides, Trump, and the right wing media has been boasting all these supposed success Trump as accomplished in thirty days, in fact, Trump himself phrased it perfectly last night, “it has been stated by many that the first month of our presidency is the most sucessful in the history of our nation. And what makes it even more impressive, is you know who number two is? George Washington. How about that?”
